l2 nrm Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 what do you guys think?i did fit a pipercross induction kit but car didnt seam to run right with it think may have been caused by the 3wires goin to mas tho but unsure was swiftly removed and standard box fitted again!thought about a panel filter to give better airflow and some hole in spare air box lid for some induction note?
l2 nrm Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 Panel filter - don't drill the airbox. cheers
cullenmin Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 IIRC the standard airbox is good for approx 330 bhp so unless your heading for more than that, theres no point in going through the maf issues with an induction kit.
colin_ross Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Would need to know your long term power goals to make a decent judgement. Unless you're going fmic or silly power stick with the panel filter.

Unless your are aiming for 350bhp+ then I woulnd't bother.. All your going to get from an induction kit is a bit nicer sooking induction noise but at the cost of a more regularly clogged MAF sensor.. (Generally speaking) the Induction sounds good when you put the foot down but it's not really worth it in a sensibly powered Impreza, you dont get that much of a difference in performance.. IMHO

IMHO If it's a real L plate (ie not just a private plate) then I don't think you'd have any issues with an induction kit (I didn't on mine) as long as it's cleaned properly and not too wet when it goes back on. I liked/prefered the sound of the IK on my wagon to the std airbox.
