craig79 Posted January 7, 2008 Author Posted January 7, 2008 £60.00 XS Motorsport Hamilton. Here Corsa (or anyone really) contacted Stevie at XS and he quoted me £40ish for the mintex (definitely no complainin') ?? I asked if there was any variants to this range he said there is a mintex 1155 'X'. These came in about £75, he rekoned they are a more track orientated pad compound. I thought for £40 it's bound to be worth trying the 'lesser' pad ?? Anyone had dealings with these 'X' pads at all, never heard of them ?? Cheers folks. Oh aye Happy New Year to Y'all Craig.
john_mchutchison Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 found this on there web site if its any good to u. http://www.mintex.com/index.php?option=com...2&Itemid=37
boris b Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Currently looking at brake pads as well. Been told that Ferodo DS2500 would do the trick. . Alyn at AS Performance phoned me today, £130 delivered for a set.. Was kinda thinking if there are alternatives at a cheaper price ( but still good quality) Whats the story with these mIntex ones Craig ?

craig79 Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 Currently looking at brake pads as well.Been told that Ferodo DS2500 would do the trick. . Alyn at AS Performance phoned me today, £130 delivered for a set.. Was kinda thinking if there are alternatives at a cheaper price ( but still good quality) Whats the story with these mIntex ones Craig ? First off, cheers for the link Hutch Kit, Did a fair bit of research about what pads to go for - as every one does I got my hands on Geo's (cusco kid) brembos which came with EBC discs and red stuff pads. Think the concensus on the RS's is that they are good once up to temp. They don't really suit my kinda useage of the car so opted for another brand. Heard alot about the DS2500, pagids, black diamond, perforamnce friction but these are all in the region of £120-130 a set. I never skimp on parts for the car but just thought instead of blindly following what abody else did I would give these a go. Originally considered them when both Grant and Alan at AWD recommended them and other various posts on here saying they were good value for money. Personally not a track day participant, mostly fast road stuff, didn't see the benefit from spending >£150 for pads. Think for £40 it's gotta be worth trying. If they turn out to be cack I'll prob opt for the Extreme compound. Hope this sheds a wee o light onto your decision mate. Sometimes you're just faced wi too many options aye Craig.
boris b Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Cheers Craig. Think i'll just go for the mintex ones.... As i said earlier, car will never be on the track and i don't do a lot of miles and certainly don't belt about in it very much.....
Jamis Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Craig go for the mintex ones as had them on my skyline and where great, keep me updated on getting the brembro's on lol You know why.

I just got this reply from them after i emailed for a price on MY 99 UK Wagon..... Hi there Chris, I've had the lads at the counter check with Mintex and you would be looking at around the £97.55 for the pads and £10 for the postage and packaging. That's based on standard Subaru 4 pot calipers and not retrofitted WRX/STi/special edition or Brembos calipers. We don't hold the items in stock but can turn around order processing in around 2-3 days. If you need any more info just drop me a line. Thanks, Rikki
