micra_wrc Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Seems like this year's Santa Cruise isn't gaining much momentum on the forum so far so thought I'd start a separate thread for some chat. The consoles we bought last year makes it easier for us to follow that up this year with computer games. We've got a healthy sum of money so far but no way near the £4,000 we raised last year. So come on people, get the money in, presents bought and lets make an effort to spread some joy and happiness this year. oh, and there may be a little secret something turning up to our event... if you want to know then stick your name down in the thread pinned above and come along on Sun 16th to find out exactly how valuable our Santa Cruises are to the community... A reminder of why we do this.....

sti pretender Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Just had an email back from "The Herald" wanting me to write a small article re: Santa Cruise for this week's motoring section. :kerstsmiley: Seemingly tight for pace to hope it is included. Will try for a follow-up next week with a photo. So remember your cameras Sunday. Robert
sti pretender Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Weather looks not bad for the weekend cold but dry.
micra_wrc Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 well at least it will be drier than last year's monsoon - it was lashing it down still looking for 5m of tinsel, most places I've tried only sell 3m or 4m
billyboy Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Two large bags of toys being donated by The Hillman Imp Owners Club. Many thanks to Scott Fanning one of my work mates for raising the cash and doing the shopping.
jamesm Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Good wee write up in the motoring section of todays Herald. Still gutted I can't make it.
micra_wrc Posted December 14, 2007 Author Posted December 14, 2007 good stuff. So I guess Subaru UK have confirmed they are attending then!
sti pretender Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 (edited) The article is base on the information Ally-b had when I had to write this. Don't know if he has hear anymore since I checked with him Tuesday. Can't believe there are only 11 cars down for Sunday. For goodness sake is for charity, its meant to be nice weather what better way to enjoy your car and give you a warm feeling inside at doing a little good for the kids. Oh and another £160 raise thanks to my work. Edited December 14, 2007 by STI Pretender
martin_allen Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Just added to the other thread about helping haul stuff. I did reply to the one a while ago but until the reminder note for the shopping trip came up no onme replied so wan't entirely sure how it was all hanging together (first timer and all that) 5t.
micra_wrc Posted December 14, 2007 Author Posted December 14, 2007 5t, yes we'd love your help. See main thread. Robert Pretender, good stuff. folks, that's us at £2,500 so far woohoo Its going to be a busy morning at Yorkhill on Sunday, the bikers will be arriving soon after we get there so lets show them what Scottish Scoobies can do and set the bar for them
ally-b Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 (edited) As mentioned above , I was called last week by David Paterson (Regional Manager Subaru UK) who asked if they could join in with us this year as they would also like to help this worthy cause . They shall be bringing along a load of Subaru gifts to donate and also hope to bring a nice new Subaru to join our convoy to Yorkhill . 10/10 Subaru UK Al. Edited December 14, 2007 by ally-b
