Auldy Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Hi guys. just wondering if anyone knows of where i can get a reasonably priced MAF sensor as mines has jus packed. also how do you reset the ecu once the new MAF is fitted?? cars a 99 v5 sti import if that makes any difrence cheers Auldy
seafar99 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Costs about £75 from a Subaru Dealership. You don't have to reset the ecu should be just a matter of plug and play.
fiestajohn Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 If it is the same type as the MY99/00 UK cars then Scoobyworld sell them for £95 +p&p http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/produ...roducts_id=1351 I doubt that a dealer would be cheaper There are details of how to reset the ecu in scoobypedia http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/ECUReset
fiestajohn Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Mine (MY00 UK) also stopped working last week and I am now using a second hand one I got off ebay a while ago as a spare. So can anyone confirm the dealer price?
buffalo Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 do you guys run induction kits? is this the reason they packed in
scoobzie Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 i am on my 4th in 1 year mines is a my00 2000 turbo and i run a standard car if you really want to reset the ecu just disconect the battery for a couple of minutes i have a spare maf sensor brand new with receipt from halleys 50 quid if any one intrested the dealer price is 90 quid with vat
dipsy Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Buffalo a uprated panel filter can damage the maf sensor my99/00 maf .I did 3 maf on a my00 uk turbo and lucky it was still under warranty with just running a JR panel filter
Auldy Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 No induction kit fitted, jus removal of box from inner wing. you think this could make a difrence to cause the maf to pack in??
fiestajohn Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 do you guys run induction kits? is this the reason they packed in No Induction kit but I have been using a K&N panel filter which I see does not get good reviews so I have ordered a Green Panel filter. i have a spare maf sensor brand new with receipt from halleys 50 quid if any one intrested I will give Auldy first chance at buying it but if he does not want it I will take it off you.
frank c Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Auldy, they are only about £80-ish (all in) new from Nobles. if you speak to the guy nicely he'll give you a wee bit discount.
sandyRS16i Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 ordered one last wk from Andy at AWD, just shy of 90 notes
Auldy Posted December 3, 2007 Author Posted December 3, 2007 No Induction kit but I have been using a K&N panel filter which I see does not get good reviews so I have ordered a Green Panel filter.I will give Auldy first chance at buying it but if he does not want it I will take it off you. cheers for letting me have 1st chance mate, but you can have that one as my dad managed to get hold of one for me over the wknd
Rossco_ Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Also worth having a scan here, seems like a good site http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts.asp?cat=68⊂=334
buffalo Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 doing a bit of research seem sthe 99-00 cars are renowned for their mafs going. reason i asked bout the induction kit is that slight oil in the kits to keep out the guff can burn out the sensor
