The 2007 Calendar is not released till Feb 2008 so all of the above may change ! The VLN dates are firm though and the other dates are based on 2007 experience

How many of you have told yourself you must go and never done anything about it !?

Budget wise :- £800-900 will cover fuel, ferry, ring tickets food & booze ( way cheaper if you have a paxxer with you i.e to half ferry & hotel room costs)

Cheers

Im interested to mate.

Was back at the ring for an afternoon on the way over to spa francorchamps in october. Would be great to get back

Would this involve getting to take your own car round a few times , or is it just a trip to watch other people racing

Me and my brother would be intrested  but i would'nt like to go all that way and not get to drive the ring myself

Are you high !? See above these over 12 hours of track time my good man.

Once I know dates I shall firm things up.

I would LOVE to do this, but am not sure what sort of driver I am yet, I might be s****e. my car is about a month away from being track-ready, so i'm soon to find out on knockers, and then get to meet some of you chaps.

so what happens on the trip? drive there/do 12hrs of laps/drive back? are the 12hrs over a few days? Do you race from a grid or is everyone competing on lap times?

and.. will I have to stick sponsers all over my car to get on the track?

My sponser will probably end up being Direct Line if I don't get the practice in! :rotfl:

Read this folks http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/tuv/

RE "Do you race from a grid or is everyone competing on lap times?"

There is no official racing and timing is frowned upon as it generally ends in tears ! It's effectively a one way public road with some rules fling in to prevent chaos.

You can go as slow or as fast as you like .

You can even take the bus first time round !

There is a few of us from the Moray Coast Motorcycle Club going over the same weekend on the bikes!. Got the Hotel book already just waiting for the dates of the ring to be confirmed! So will see some of you over there. Pretty sure we will be sailing from Newcastle like last year.

I would so love to take the car for a few laps round there, but could do with a few more pony's under the bonnet

Last night I broke out the old PlayStation2 and attempted to drive round the Ring in a Scooby, and this has raised an important question.

- How much is insurance for doing this kind of thing? :o:P:P:P
