No I'm afraid I'm off work sick today. face-icon-small-sad.gif Not feeling at all good, and bored sh1tless too!

Was meant to be fitting the new cambelt tonight but am gonna have to postpone it now unfotunately.

Still, aside from the cost and the scoob downtime, I'm sort of almost looking forward to taking the engine out.

I haven't had the chance to do a big project like that for quite some time and it's going to be, shall we say, interesting to say the least!

At least I now have some alternative wheels to use now. I'll never complain again about my scoob only doing about 20mpg either!

Ha ha ha, Wopp can spell!! Wow!

Yeah, I see his point 450bhp on an Island 30-miles long....can it be used?

Still have to see what work has been done.

can it be used? course it can, a drag strip is only a 1/4 mile long!

450bhp won't make you go any faster, it'll just get you to the rev limiter in 5th (or 6th, if only) a whole lot quicker! face-icon-small-happy.gif

It can be used!

Remember what I said mate! Be interesting to see some Dyno graphs! 2.33 Litres is nice! But not everything.

Think we can arrange a shootout between mine and his once mine is finished? Ill be over a few times!

Mines currently at 330bhp until tommorrow face-icon-small-wink.gif Then 400bhp and next month hoping for over 500bhp with the P650 turbo.

Where did he get it done mate? Not many places do the 2.33 conversion?

In the IoM is there really going to be much difference between 300bhp and 450bhp? Might get you to McDonalds on Peel Road a couple of seconds quicker.

And as for drag strips, well the Island is full of those....

Nah, not interested in crazy horsepower unless you've got the space and room to use it.

300bhp on tap would do me nicely.

Things like this a 2.2 conversion will provide more torque and alot more power that way. Power comes in sooner as the increased airflow to the turbo makes it spin up alot quicker.

300bhp will do you im sure. Find yourself a Scooby then mate face-icon-small-happy.gif

My aim is to produce over 500bhp on this 2.2 Litre and if it blows up then I have a spare 2.2 Litre short engine to go it if that buggers up.

Or select one of the 2.5 Litres I have in my garage face-icon-small-wink.gif

My way of thinking is only a short area like the IoM where you're going to be covering shorter distances than long motorways and dual carriageways in the UK, there isn't really a whole lot of point to a tiny bit extra bhp, torque, air to the wherever etc.

I just think there is a limit to how much is usable for day to day driving. When you finish work at 5-5.30pm on Friday and are heading along Central Prom, no matter how many horsies you've bolted to your lump, you're still going to do 10mph like the guy in front of you and the guy behind you.

And I'd love to get my hands on a good Scooby, I really would. But the things is, information these days seems VERY hard to come by!!

I have had nearly 300BHP and it is good. Until it goes pop then it is expensive. There are too many scooby engines going pop out there and it is making me think seriously about a change of manufacturer. Just paid out over 2 grand for the engine, new wheels, gauges, pod, removal of engine. Still got more to pay with new clutch, fitting of engine, belts, oil and filter and labour. Also on my shopping list are 4 pots which I have not yet ordered (850 for Brembos) and it all adds up.

Add to that I looked inside my car today and it is full of mould then I am not very happy. Lets see when I have it back on the road and I may speak differently.
