un happy member posting in scottish forum on scooby net. surely all problems should be aired on here not having digs on other sites ?

What problems? I'm not aware of any. In a community setting, you will always have disagreements and such-like. Who cares man! I have been posting and been a part of these forums for well over a year now and there has been little to no issues of any real note. There are dissagreements from time to time, but the vast majority of people (in my experience) just get over it and get on with it. I have been helped out time after time after time by people wom I have never met and people who hardly know me. As far as I am concerned, and all things considered, this is a good place to be, with good members, good advice and good humour.

If you don't like it here, go away, there is no obligation for anyone to stay.

My 2p.

Extremely childish, but then no less than I'd expect. :)

No i didn't, yet was more of curiosity to the unitiated like myself to what appears to be drivel being posted, instead of the aim of both S'net and SIDC forums bringing like minded enthusiasts together to talk and share about their passions for their cars.

I used to post on ScoobyNet regularly but got fed up with all the trolls. Joined here, and at first thought it was a bit cliquey but then went to a few meets, met a few members and now I`m on here most nights getting my 'fix'. What I like about the SIDC are the discounts, the informative members, buying and selling items locally and troll free banter. Like John says, if you don`t like it here you don`t have to stay!

Posts being deleted and swept under the SIDC carpet with no answers. Definetely.

You should try being on our "local" forum......................I (and several others) have encountered exactly the same issues!

I'll say no more (those who do it know who they are)

Seeing as I am being moderated randomly by a bitter bigot, can I at least have notification as to WHY my threads and posts have been deleted.

I have approached Phil by PM and MSN and have had no response.

If I am again 'being given enough rope to hang myself' then keep it coming as I am being baited into responding by the lack of communication.

I've never had the impression this forum is cliquey

As for posts being swept under the carpet, i haven't had any of those that i know of or can remember, but does it really matter? This is just a place where you can get light relief from the humdrum of everyday life, or increase your knowledge and make some new friends with like minded interests.

Perhaps you take your passion too seriously Dougster, it's easy to do when you become so involved.

Take a break and just banter with your mates on here and don't let certain posts get to you. It ain't worth it.

Alan, you know I do but when targeted and moderated without communication, it tends to get on ones nerves.

Yes I am passionate and will speak up. I wonder why most of the traffic is on SIDC these days............

Have to say that if Dougster is having posts removed by a Moderator - WHO IS SELECTED BY THE MAJORITY TO WORK FOR THE CLUB AND NOT THEMSELVES - surely he has a right to know, by means of a reply to said post and not a removal of said post, why it was done.

He is a paying member and as such has a voice which has a right to be heard.

If his posts are viscious or threatening, then they deserve to be removed.

Doug - read your PM and replied with the information you required m8. Keep it to yourself though! Don't want too many people finding out what we're discussing.

Alan does make a couple of good points there!

So long as it does not get personal ( and it shouldn't)................be the bigger man and let it slide!

I have had a couple of psots deleted without note. But on reflection, it was right that they should have been deleted. If posts are being deleted, then I have to look at myself as the cause for their removal. I don't see what moderators have to gain by "randomly" deleting posts. Perhpaps a note in the place of original post with a generic message might be more helpful, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. As for moderators giving reasons to the poster as to why their posts were deleted would add to their administrive "to do" list and I am sure it wouldn't end there. Contentious people would go on and on and on about it. As far as I am aware, these guys do this sort of thing for free. Give them a break and have a look in the mirror.

I think when a post is responded to before it is removed then there should be a note saying that the post has been removed, just so that the thread still makes some kind of sense.

Firstly, I've merged the other topic from the Suggestions Forum with this one to keep everything in one place.

Now let's address some issues...

Bitter bigot?

I've been called a lot of things in my time - certainly been called worse, by better, but a bigot is not one of them.

Yes Douglas, Stephen has done nothing. It's all down to me and you've brought it all on yourself.

I'd like to quote you your very own words:

"SIDC has NO place for religion or football based threads as I have ALWAYS stated."

Now let's look at some of your recently moderated posts...

"Just found out Kimi is a proddy as well" - Religion. No place for that on SIDC according to you.

"Just heard Raikkonnen's a proddy though" - Religion. No place for that on SIDC according to you.

"Where did this one go then? Has Atrur Boruc got a job on here as well??" - Football. No place for that on SIDC according to you.

"Likewise Andy STFU." - Oh dear oh dear oh dear...

"I like Bovril and I choose PROTESTANT" - Religion. No place for that on SIDC according to you.

"Super Ally Super Ally oh way oh way oh way." - Football. No place for that on SIDC according to you.

"Total sad sacks." - Not a good idea to slag off the very people who work to keep this site going and is hardly likely to endear them to you...

These are just some examples of your recent indiscretions. So, you see Douglas, your moderation has been largely due to you breaking the very rules you lay down yourself - or do your rules only apply to others and not to you? There's only one bigot on these forums and you need to take a look in a mirror to see him.

If I'd succumbed to the numerous requests I've had you'd have been permanently banned by now. I certainly fail to see what your value proposition is. If you're not trolling you're reporting every single post you personally disagree with or making ludicrous demands and carrying out your petty personal vendettas. I'm sick of it and so are many others.

Now, be a good boy and apologise to Stephen for your false accusations.

BTW, I apologise to others for deleting a few other posts. That was purely because they were taking the bait or quoted the drivel.
