scoobyiain Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Got a phone call monday night and was offered a very nice sum of money to take my car away, i agreed. After hanging up the phone i sat for a while and thought "what am i doing" phoned the guy back and said sorry but i cannot sell her. Got a power of overtime coming up in october so going to spend all the money i make on a few mods. 1st is a set of coilovers, can anyone reccomend a set for an 04sti in the region of £600/£750 2nd going for a sports cat, air filter and fuel pump then go and see mr f 3rd wheels Hopefully get this all done by xmas and it will keep me happy for another year.

You made the correct decision! I'd LOVE a set of coilovers!!!!! However, I'll just have toget my heap running right before I go spending any more cash. Good luck with it, see you on track
scoobyiain Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 forgot to mention, still won't be taking it on track.

WUZ Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Why do you want coilovers? Some Whiteline gear and a geometry reset will work wonders on the car and it'll runn better on the road than coilovers. Coilovers are for the hardcore and track-day users.....not really that good for day-to-day driving, etc. Russell

higgy Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Yeah, very good point. If yo utake the car on track , that is where you will learn to drive it to it's true pottential. You will be amased how far you can push it , evan in the wet Higgy
scoobyiain Posted October 1, 2007 Author Posted October 1, 2007 If i was to take it on track i would only slow you guys down.
RA Dunk Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 If i was to take it on track i would only slow you guys down. dosent matter if you kept to the right side of track you can go at almost any speed you like and gradually build it up to a speed your comfortable with, you need to get yer confidence a bit higher with your car and a track day would do you the world of good, get yer name down for next month
thewelsho Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 If i was to take it on track i would only slow you guys down. So? You will be amazed at how accomodating most drivers are on track. Granted, there are one or two muppets, but on the whole, people are extremely understanding. I worried about my first time on track and still do even now, but after a session of 5 or 6 laps it awesome man, and great fun. Nov 24, next day, hopefully my ar will be working by then.
