thewelsho Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I have fitted to my MY06 WRX, a sports cat downpipe and swapped out the TD04 for the VF34. The existing CATless uppie was replaced in favour of a wrapped uppipe. The re-map is being done on Tuesday. Was driving today, and decided to squeeze the gas a little bit to feel the car out. I pushed it to 5k and I suddenly felt a jolt and I was thrown forward as though I hit a wall! The engine light came on. I recovered my composure, kept the car running and drove home keeping the car in the 3k rev range (ish) with no problems. The car starts up, idles fine and drives ok. Other than fuel-cut, is there anything else I should worry about. Also, the engine light won’t go out, is there anything I can do to make it go out before I get it mapped? Feel free to lambaste me for being an a55!
nanaki Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 sounds like the car went into limp home mode, reset the ECU (that should clear the CEL) and then keep the revs down untill the remap
GaryD Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Think you need to disconnect the battery. Also remember something bout switching off and restarting the car 5 times, not sure if the thats true or a made it up tho!
thewelsho Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 The light has gone out all by itself!
