colzo Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 After being out in my mates Hawkeye with the Xenon lights I realised that a bulb upgrade was needed for mine. Looking at the back of the headlamps it looks impossible to change the bulbs without moving the battery etc. So looked in the handbook and found out how to remove the headlamps, looks easy enough but would I need to get the headlamps aligned once they are back in place? I know a lot of you guys have taken them out to de tango them so any tricks or tips or is it really just 3 bolts and the unit is out?
colzo Posted August 30, 2007 Author Posted August 30, 2007 Any suggestions/websites for bulbs to buy would be appreciated.
craig79 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Any suggestions/websites for bulbs to buy would be appreciated. Don't know about where to get the bulbs but you can change them without removing the headlight, have done it myself. If you've got big gorilla hands you might struggle tho' Craig.

Colin i recently changed the bulb's on my morrette's and it is a tight squeeze but even with my big hand's i managed it,it just take's a bit of patience, i had to remove the airflow pipe into the airbox to get into the drivers side but the passenger side was a bit more tight,i'm sure you will manage it fine Stevie
jamesm Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I changed the bulbs on my Bugeye and took the headlights out. I just followed the instructions in the handbook, took the fixings off, removed the unit, changed the bulb indoors and then put them back in. I found that easier than trying to get my hands into the very small space. I had no need to realign then or anything afterwards. Try www.powerbulbs.co.uk for bulbs. I got Osram Silver Stars from there. They were definitely an improvement but the full beam on my 12 year old oil burning Pug 106 is still better!
