nick_readman Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hi, I'm a new member to SIDC and a new owner of an '07 WRX. I owned a 2000 model WRX 5 door model in 2002 and have fond memories of it, both speed and handling were awesome. I have now covered about 1500 miles in my new car and at the moment I am quite dissapointed by it. It is very quiet, and although quick, it seems to have lost the feeling of going quick................progress I guess. I previously ran a re-mapped Skoda Fabia vRS and must say that in straight line speed there is absolutely nothing in it! The Scooby is in a different class when it comes to handling, braking, etc but still, I think I expected more. I have it booked in for a PPP next week and am really hoping that will put the smile back on my face. Cheers,

Also recently bought a 07 WRX after having owned a 01 WRX, and yeh its definately quiet and it just doesnt seem to be going quick at times because of lack of noise IMHO, I reckon a good exhuast ( centre and back) would help no end, overall though its a huge improvement over the 01 I previously had. Would also consider the PPP if it were slightly cheaper. Good luck with the new car. Edited August 22, 2007 by Spooks

Go with what Spooks says and mod the exhaust. You will of course get this with your PPP, so its jsut a case of taking out the centre section. This will not only increase volume but will also deepen the burble. Your new car is bound to feel like its going less fast as it more refined and of course brand new. Give it time and some choice mods and you'll love it!
G.Mac Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Nope, its called a newage!! flame suit on ready for incomming flack!! bring it on boys which were the fastest up in Alford then......
RA Dunk Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 which were the fastest up in Alford then...... ok fair enough, but which had a 1, 2, 3, finish at time attack, then went on to win TOTB the following day (with no newages involved)

~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Welcome my friend ( ignore the auld car chat). I am also from Aberdeen and have an 02 bugeye......PPP will give your car a definite edge and LOTS of torque. Recommend Prodrive springs, drop links and an adjustable anti-roll bar. Your car will be an absolute weapon after that !!
dipsy Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) Welcome mate .Wait till you have a few more miles on the clock the engine will perform better it will start to losen up a bit Edited August 22, 2007 by Dipsy

johnnyr6 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Just my opinion but i wouldn't ppp it. Speak to andy forrest for advice as it doesn't take a lot of money to get the 2.5 up to 400 bhp then you'll be happy.
hosstheboss Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I got hold of my first Subaru in May when i was lucky enough to get my hands on an RB320. I've had some cars in the past that i thought were fast but nothing like this! But, even this early on the need for speed is getting to me!!

fai17 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Hi and welcome..... I personally would go for the AndyF route.....more power+less cash=BIG
nick_readman Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 I have the car booked in for a PPP tomorrow. As it is new, I would like to be able to maintain my warranty for the next few years, so will be sticking to relatively sensible (approved) mods - after that, who knows??
ANDYJDMSTI Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Sell it and get something with a bigger engine and 2 turbos!! In all seriousness though, Andyf gets my vote over the PPP. Just be ready for wanting more and more and more when you start.
