markymark Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 A mate is looking at a 55 plate wrx 5 door & was wondering how hard on petrol are they ? It's a standard unmodified 2.0 example with 20k, what sort of tank range should he expect with normal day to day driving ? cheers mark []
corsa Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 If he cant afford to, or even has to think about running costs tell him dont buy it, go and buy and Astra diesel!!!
st3ph3n Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I get about 230 miles to £45 worth of Petrol. That's about the same as when it was unmodded. If not a little bit better!
craigwrx Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I get about 230 miles to £45 worth of Petrol. That's about the same as when it was unmodded. If not a little bit better! lol ..the way you drive mate i'm surprised u manage 10 miles to the gallon [8-)] ...j/k On some trips to England to see my good folks (341 miles) with a full tank, not going above 85mph, no hard acceleration (3k max) i would get there with the red light being on for the last 30 miles of the trip ... 05 Newage, not the P1 ... Like most will tell you thou, if ur thinking about fuel cost's look for another motor...
thewelsho Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I get 260 to a tank and that is mostly city driving with a short spurt down the motorway. I go easy on the gas but have my moments of fun as well. Mind you, thats a MY06. Couple of weeks ago I got 29 mpg!!! But was driving at a constant 50ish mph and I didn't use the full tank.
Jimmy321 Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I get on average 230 (£47ish of V Power) to the tank on my current and last car with mixed driving.
spooks Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Least I had had was around 180( not inc track) most I have had is 330 ( pootling at 70/80 most o the time), this is from full tank to light on. If MPG is a deal breaker I gunuinly wouldnt buy a scoob, they are thirsty in comparison to other "quick" cars.
