I'd love to see some pics of my Blue WRX (small rear spoiler, gunmetal grey wheels and reg starts PL03)

I had a great day and my upgraded suspension and brakes were a huge improvement, but the road tyres (which melted!) and 230hp standard engine meant that I was seriously outgunned by pretty much everyone else on track!

And the gray Lateral Performance Time Attack Scooby was going past me as if I was in reverse. [:$]

First time I've been on a dry track at Knockhill. Will definitely rent slicks if it's dry next time as it would be a lot cheaper that 4 new road tyres!

Charlie, I believe that car has over 500bhp, different suspension, dog gear box, fancy diffs, road legal slicks and can do 10 second 1/4 mile runs! It should have been passing most cars with ease [;)]

Its well worth while getting hold of another set of wheels and sticking  your old tyres on just for the track. Or getting a set of track day tyres like toyo 888's. They are great in the dry, bit sketchy in the wet though, and dont melt the same as road tyres do. If its really wet you can just use your road tyres as they will not wear as much on the wet track. Wheels around are always there at sidc days anyway to change over wheels and tyres anyway. So keep a hold of your old ones.

Slicks can aslo be a bit tricky. They tend to grip and grip, then just let go. A lot quicker than road tyres go when they begin to loose traction and slide. Also, slicks tend to grip more than a standard suspension set up is meant for. Or so i belive. So it can do funny things with the handling of the car
