colin_ross Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I've got a panel that could do with a bit of buffing to bring it back to life. I'll do it the old fashioned way if I have to but wondered if a kind sole might take pity on a lazy barsteward like myself and lend me their polisher. Ta much
scoobyiain Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 you could have borrowed mine but i'm away on honeymoon sunday so don't have any free time to get it to you.

mrbadger Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I've not got one yet, but my car is really in need of a good polish too. I really want to buy a polisher and have been looking at the Metabo one. The wife says I'm on a red card and can't spend anymore money for a while Oh well.
corsa Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Just a thought for the future, what if all those in an area for talking sake Glasgow/Strathclyde[]who want the regular use of one of these decide how many people want to contribute, divide the cost by that many and you all have one to share?Pass it about and you all have shiny cars. Just a thought.
mrbadger Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I'd be up for that if we get enough people. Any one else interested in the Glasgow area? A good polisher is about £175 eg. Metabo PE12-175 (with 3 yr warranty if registered). I don't know how you'd work it - may be people buy their own polish and foam pads?
scoobyiain Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 The Metabo is a rotary polisher and a very powerfull one for beginers. I would reccomend getting a porter cable from autopia, it's much safer to use on paintwork.
mrbadger Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 The Porter Cable polisher looks good and is from the US isn't it? Does anyone sell them in the UK? Do you have to get a 110V/240V converter? $210 for a kit with pads + import duty and VAT?
Boyakasha Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Guys speak to Rich at Polished Bliss, they are currently developing a polisher for about £100 and should be available soon.
