corsa Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 After watching a ridiculous piece of what can only be called boy racers. This happenned in East Kilbride around half an hour ago in the car park next to McDonalds. Sliding about, donuts and racing out of the mcds car park like things possessed. I have both reg numbers as well as a detailed description of both drivers one of whom had what looked like a small blonde haired child sitting in the passenger seat. This sort of ******* behaviour gives the marque a very bad name. Question is should i post up the details for all to see? [:@]
frank c Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 I know what you mean Davie. A guy at work last week said " I saw two of your lot racing down the main street last night".. Just because i have a subaru why should i be classed in the same mould and be tarred with the same brush. [:@]
ANDYJDMSTI Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 I would be passing the details to the police.............get these little runts off the road!!! [:@]
Hepy Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Get their details up. I work in EK so would like to know who to avoid.
phil Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Report them to the police Please do not post details on here
corsa Posted June 17, 2007 Author Posted June 17, 2007 Ok boss. is posting up the style of cars and certain things on them that make them distinctive but leave out the drivers profiles and reg numbers okay?
corsa Posted June 17, 2007 Author Posted June 17, 2007 Car 1 was a red classic, bit tatty and had a primer coloured bonnet with the scoops removed. Car2 was a tidier classic silver in colour with a front mount and EVOTECH written on the rear boot. No details of drivers/reg plates will be posted.
col666 Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 You can now pick up an early wrx for the same price as an old Saxo so this is going to get more and more common.
andy Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 In Blair's Britain they were no doubt picked up on CCTV anyway.
G.T. Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 yeah i agree with col to many of he little erseholes can afford them now [:@] and nearly all of them drive them like they stole them[:@]
marky.t.s Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Car 1 was a red classic, bit tatty and had a primer coloured bonnet with the scoops removed. Car2 was a tidier classic silver in colour with a front mount and EVOTECH written on the rear boot. No details of drivers/reg plates will be posted. Davie, the "evotech" scoob rings a bell mate,i saw this on the M73 a few weeks ago, only thing is it was being driven at 60mph holding up traffic heading north, young lad with blonde burd, sounds the same car to me.
PECO Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Subarus are now cheap and will get into the wrong hands - you wonder if these youngsters are insured. As an EK resident I saw worse last week - a purple classic and chaved to f**k made me cringe - boy needs a good kicking!
todd jnr Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 exactly the same thing happend with mr2's.i used to own a n/a then a turbo.i used to go to meets etc.then when they started getting more affordable it all went down hill after that.that was the main reason i stopped going to meets etc.[]
4Hero Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 you won't see any hawkeye's being driven like that [][]
frank c Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 you won't see any hawkeye's being driven like that [][] Want a bet [][] inconsiderate drivers come in ALL shapes and sizes...Sadly
duncan_mccormick Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 When I bought my first scooby they were like Hens teeth....now every a...... has one!! How can they afford the insurance??
gus the bus Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 you won't see any hawkeye's being driven like that [][] I have already! I followed you one night[] Aye, too many ****ers can get their hands on these nowadays. sad but true[:S]
gus the bus Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 How can they afford the insurance?? third party only or some of them probably dont even bother[:@]
billyboy Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Or the little -hites get mummy or daddy to insure it for them.[:@]
RA Dunk Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 basically its getting the same way with other makes as well Evo`s Skylines etc as they are getting older there more affordable to the younger ones, just seems to be that subaru is the worst affected by it though[:S]
thewelsho Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 you won't see any hawkeye's being driven like that [][] LOL!
the squiggle Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 It all went down hill after i bought one all those many moons ago
Alan-G Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Grant, (Squirell555) It went all uphill for us when I got my first scoob. I met yourself and Imy and attended the Glesga Santa cruise and you - between yourselves raised almost £8k for the Yorkhill sick kids fund. And thats a downhill slope ? All makes of cars eventually go down the pan with age and corrosion. You might see less Classics due to this. But it is enevitable unfortunately. Boy racers do spoil images. But boy racers are more than likely to be thick enough to learn it the hard way , Pearlescent blue hatchback or not , classic blue or not. Or a bad crash incident. It boils down to a similar equation. Cars get old and cheaper , boy racers can afford them , but because of the cheap - and high amount of buyers, puts a high powered sports car within the reach of younger drivers. It's a no win situation. This forum is possibly best medium to teach the younger drivers. My opinion only. Alan.
colzo Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 How things of changed, I had to wait 4 months on a waiting list for my first Subaru back in 2000, now its 'Special' & 'Limited' editions every other month to shift models. The depreciation of the Subarus is shocking compared with other marques at similar new prices. So with this and cheap imports flooding the country its not surprising that these once sought after cars are falling into the hands of the boy racers.
