Yeah I'm not sure if it the Evo build quality or the driver abuse that does them in, they should buy a proper British car, like my Subaru However it is starting to leak a little at the seams, still with the original clutch, afaik A little TLC and a decent garage goes a long way

Yer I'm a V-Power kinda guy, was Optimax before that. I have been known to drive miles out of my way to get the stuff, can't be doing with putting the other stuff in my car. Not sure scientifically how well it performs but my car has been running on the good stuff since i had it 3 years ago, it was on 94k then and now is on 161k, with no problems to the running of the car whatsoever.

Hello peeps, I have a pair of front seats from my MY98 wagon, in black and grey, waiting for a good home. I don't want anything for them, totally free They are in my garage at the moment, but will have to go to the tip soon as they are taking up space, i need somewhere to get out the replacement manifold and FMIC and plan for the install for 'em. Let me know if u fancy 1 or both, I'm at home every night after 6pm Cheers, Colin

Hi Matty, good to see more Caterton folks about, well the ones I have are a tad grainy and were took with a 6yr old 1MPixel digi camera, I'd be ashamed to post em up here lol, but Iain took some cracking ones last week at the Oxon meet, if you look at the pics in post #33 mines is the wee blue classic wagon Iain resprayed my side skirts, rear bumpers and mirrors...I'm a happy man

Hi guys and gals, thought I'd pop in and say hi as I have not been on the forums for quite a while now but hopefully this will change. I've been real busy in work, after changing jobs, and being a scummy contractor (that everyone loves to hate) which leaves me very little time to surf during the day and even less inclination at home. I have been doing a lot of martial arts exams recently and excessive visits to the outlaws which means that most sunday meets are out. I should now hopefully have a lot more 'free' time

That was a bit of a scorcher, but copious ammounts of lemonade worked wonders, nice place to have it too. Good to meet new faces too, looking forward to the next one, I'll bring my short and flipflops too (not a pretty sight tho)

Hello and welcome to the the Oxon Chapter, I cant make this next meet but look forward to chatting to you on the next one [] Cheers Colin

Grr, I cant make this one either, I was looking forward to this one after missing the last but I wont to get my car back on the road this week, ready for Sunday. The garage says my wee car wont be fixed and sprayed until the 22nd, not a merry christmas []

I had my car serviced yesterday, using a day off of work. Just had a 15k service plus new platinum plugs. After going through my service history with Fiona and Simon, we got the dates and mileage all sorted out and now its all back on track again. I cant say enough about the excellent service I got there in terms of work carried out and customer service too. There were problems that were pointed out and planned for inthe future too. Its also comforting to know that one of their machanics is one of the top 3 subaru mech's in the UK. I had a 15k service and new plugs all for £220 all in. That included massive discounts on labour charges due to the age of the car and also parts discount, they also used Magnetec instead of the Helix substitute that Simpsons used (which was more expensive). I'm taking my car there from now on, beats Simpsons of Swindon (Highworth) hands down. They are a very friendly bunch and i suspect i was chatting with them too much about future work to let them get on with it. Saying that I have to work in a cambelt change as well as a new clutch in the next few months, but it appears that its still the original after now having done 120,000 miles. I would highly recommend these guys, give them a try, you wont be sorry [] Colin

Sorry guys and gals I cant make this one, I have to run around to get preparde for a new job staring tomorrow. My contract with my old place expired and wasn't renewed until the last hour of the day by which point I had already got another one lined up and ready to start. I gotta go buy laptops and a new wardrobe as its a shirt and tie job [] Hope you all have a good day, looks like the sun is gonna stay out today, have fun [] I was really looking forward to this one too [] Cheers Colin

Ah but Kaz, it is a nice car to drive tho..... Yeah stealing itmes from ambulances has to be the lowest of the low, I just prey these poeple need this service and have to suffer due to essential items are missing. [:@] I spoke to the outfit that Keith Micheals use for their insurance claims, on monday morning as they werent open over the weekend, only to be told to phone AutoGlass. If I had known this I would have had this done on sunday, but never mind. AutoGlass came out on monday lunchtime and repaired the glass within 3 hours, swept and hoovered the broken glass and left it nice and sparkly again [] Woot, I'm now back on the road, no longer having to drive a wallowing elephant of a car (hope the wife doesnt get to see this [] ) and whizzing around the backroads to work, happy again [] As for the culrpit, I had a small card dropped though the door from 'Chuck NorrisConsultants' saying that the problem had been resolved.......(everybody hum along to the sounds of the A-team theme in your heads) Now to clean out the small shards in the restof the car....... Colin

Hi guys, I was down in the Swindon/Shawridge Pizza Hut establishment last night, enjoying a bite to eat with a beverage or two as you do. We came to leave to find (in the dark) that somone had smashed my drivers window in a ran off with me satnav. There was glass everywhere and our wee dog was in the back absolutely cra**ing herself with fear from the noise that would have come from this smash and grab, we heard nothing and the Sigma alarm never went off once. We had parked in what we thought was a safe corner, away from all the other inconsiderate drivers who like to smash my door panels when they open their own doors too far, thinking it would be safe from harm, how wrong I was. Being of a security minded kinda guy I covered up the satnav and camera detector with a cloth so no-one could see. They left the detector and the phone right next to it too. We phoned the police to report it, and as there were no cameras in that area it would remain unsolved, so I got a crime ref number for my troubles to inform the insurance boys. I was not a happy bunny I can tell you, after picking nearly all the glass shards from the front of the car we made our 25 mile journey home at night with the window open and hot air blowers running overtime, all the time picking slivers from my hand and my ar$e as there were still bits embedded in the seat. So im without a car for a tad until the insurance sorts it out, I have to drive the wifes blue beetle, covered in pink flowers...oh the shame. I reckon the pizza shud cost my at least 60 quid in replacement windows and another 300 quid in replacment satnav. I guess the moral of the story is if u have stuff inthe front of the car and you leave it, leave it uncovered, so that any piece of $hit thief can see what you have on offer before deciding to take it for his own and make sure it is left in a well lit parking area. So at least it wont get robbed but all your door panels will get dented and scratched to buggery by these poeple in their oversized mpv's. Oh aye our wee dog Ellie is right as rain now, hopefully no permanent damge done there......

Yah, count me in for a bit of karting []

Hi Guys and Gals, I had to get me insurance renewed today so spent most of the day searching the web and phoning loads of poeple (instead of working). If i didn't tell 'em about any of the minor mods, I was looking at £350 with the AA. This would have been fully comp, not 3prd party fire and theft, which wasnt bad. I enquired about adding mods and with the basic air filter change to a cone filter I was looking at over £630. I then restarted all me efforts ringing some of the 'performance car' companies to be told I would be looking at £560 for just the air filter mod alone.Outrageous. Having then come to the forums here, where I guess I shud have started I then phoned Keith Michaels where I was given a price of £450 fully comp and an extra mods wouldnt be a problem, woohoo [] Having seen some of the shocking prices quoted on some of the threads here, this seems to be a bargain. Saying that I am a mere tender age of 38 with a clean licence, 10+ years of fully protected no claims....so finally being an old duffer has some advantages [] If you're on the lookout give these gusy a ring, I was pleasantly surprised at the quote I took up [] A wee Link to the site
