  1. The volvo was a project by the touring car peeps there, so its not even worth considering. The scoob, well its really a cosworth in a scooby chassis, since they basically through all the subaru stuff away and rebuit its engine from scratch. I will never be a fan on the new scooby, even that one still just does not have any presence, well except the costworth badge! The focus RS is awesome, having had a test drive of a standard RS, it blew me away and I could not believe the handeling and grip it had. TBH I thought it felt much better than my subaru ever did when I still had it. For 15k less, sorry, but thats a no brainer if you were looking at them. With previous comment in topic regarding F1 teams would do kartwheels for 3 secs at 15k. Well in the real world I think i would rather live with it than fork out that much. Plus is the scooby not limited, so the ford would get it after 155. lol
  2. I thought the proposed blockages were being proposed by the Unions in relation to pay and pensions, or am I thinking of another or different planned blockage. I agree that the price of fuel is rediculous and something needs to be done to help the motorist out, however I am so sick of these unions constantly seeing disadvantaging the public as a way of negoatiating with the companies. Fuel, public transport, airports, etc. Its high time that the goverment come down hard on these unions. Do you know that they dont even need to have a minimun of 50% of there members vote to call a strike! Mental. Rant over!
  3. Ha ha = I still have my "SIDC" fleece! focus dave!!! But I really wish just now(AWD) that I still had the scoob!! Damn high performance car, and low performance diver!!! lol
  4. I have had a few, but thanks for correcting me! lol
  5. I have been a member or follower for over 5 years now. This site when I joined was jam packed with scoobie followers and the meets in scotland were always packed. I had many a good ice cream with Paul. Who was central organiser and sweet tooth of the mob! Anyway, even though I have not have the scoob for three years I always kept in touch and online, but the brotherhood and sisterhood had died. I need to ask the question...................................why? I liked this place so much and the meets I have never not visited on a daily basis, but the will is fading!
  6. Hence the 1.6 focus these days!!
  7. Couple of years ago, I stupidly got caught doing 91 in a 50(M80). I got my letter delivered to the door by a copper, and I asked why they did not just post them. He said that they need to have a signature from the offendant to proceed with the case. I would ask the same question, as you cant exactly turn up at court if you dont know you were meant to be there. I pleaded guilty my post and was not summoned. Got 5 points and 200 pound fine. Lesson learned!!
  8. I have had my Mk2 RS for a couple of weeks and have had a few scoobs - old age and new! Handles a million times better than my old sccob, especially in the wet!!
  9. Less of the "Im Gay Ford" comments young man. Nought wrong with it. Had my focus two years now and spent at least £1500 less maintaining it than I did the scoob in that time.
  10. Sounds like drop links - had a similar noise under same circumstances on my classic and new droplinks solved it. If you can get it up on a ramp and get a bar in you can usually see a bit of play in them if they are making that noise.
  11. U need to get red led's on the front and be the new knightrider!
  12. Had many a experince like this in recent times. Unfortunately the impreza is so much affordable these days, especially the older models and that means that young idiots(and thats the usual ones I have experienced) can afford them and insure them. Saying that, its more or less all models these days that have stupid, and dangerous drivers. We just notice them scoobs as we are driving them!
  13. Hindsight is a great thing - worst thing was I wrote it off 3 weeks later! Cheez!
  14. Man they are not fun to change. Mine took all day on the ramp, mainly because we could not get the feckin thing to line back up with the gearbox. After much swearing and nearly coming to blows with my cousin "who is the mechanic" we got the thing in. Most annoying thing was I done it cos it slipped bad once when i tried to pull away on high revs on a hill, then it slipped all the way home. Seemed ok the next day, but i thought best do it while i had the cash. When we took the old one out it still had loads of life in it. Chance you take I guess.
  15. I will take your liver Grant - mines is gubbed! Some car Andy, lucky bassa
