The Smacs normally have between 25-40 cars per meet, ok in the depths of winter we may go down to say around 20 cars but we always get a respectable number at any meet. The clubs run fine along side each other and we have members who attend both Smacs and Cads - although new members who come from another club qualify for a sticker pack and a Smacs tankard. So no i would not say local meets are dying out - having met Bob and Warby - both are a good bunch and run a good club.

I think people get the wrong idea of different clubs. People think we (Smacs) are a load of nutters driving like balloons where as the Cads just sit and admire they're cars every month. I've never been to a Cads meet but i'm sure this is not the case (as is us driving like d*cks) The truth is people get what they want out of each club. If you want to come to a Smacs meet every month and just have a coke and rabbit on about Subarus then so be it, others wish to throw themselves in at the deep end and do the lot Meets, Runs out etc. then fair enough. Having met both Blue Boy and Warby they are top blokes, what i will say yeah we have a bit of banter with other clubs but thats as far as it goes it shouldn't degenerate into slagging off or berating any other club. If it has then i'm sure it was not meant seriously and i realise on a public forum it can easily spiral out of control.Appologies if any Cads think we were being serious about slagging your club off. Being head of security at Smacs feel free to PM me names of offenders and i will be only too happy to give them a chicken winger at the Smacs next meet. Maybe an-inter club meet every three months, just to show that we are not a bunch of idiots and keyboard warriors but good all round blokes (and lasses) i'm serious!!! Cheers guys!

Dont want to hijack this thread with it being a Cads thread and me being a Smacs but i know what you mean mate. in 6 months of Subaru ownership i've been pulled twice and both by coppers with an attitude - i mean come on dont compare me with your 18 year old Nova/Saxo/MaxPower brigade but it does get ennoying. A lot of our members have discussed this what happens when they move on and change cars and we have decided that they can still attend our monthly meets and runs out, although certain events are not possible (Scooby shootouts etc) Oh and you want more noise than a Scoob - A Cerbera with Sports pipes should do the trick. I know of a very good independant who does servicing in the Stockport area BTW.
