  5. guys been on the phone and most places seem to have a 102db limit, only a few have a 105db so maybe a change of venue is in order now i am not too clued up on this how do you know if you car is over that as the last thing you want is to pay turn up and not be aloud to run. there seems to be two choices one is to hire the track for the whole day which is costly seems to be around april or sept-nov would be around 3.5k-5k running 35-45 cars but price would go up if more cars were running as they would need more marshalls, insurance etc etc, if it were in june-august would be up to 9k, the other option is to enter on a open track day which seem to come in at 109-199 quid each, but i have been offered discounts depending on the more cars we bring. but these figure only covers the event cost and makes no money for the charity. so i need some feelers please would you all be up for a complete day hire? or oragnised open day already? as for date i was thinking for september or october due to most people are away in the summer months, or there are shows and events on already so not as many people will be around so would sometime in sept-oct be good? as for raising the money i ws thinking that the day itself will end up costing as if you were to go on your own maybe slightly cheaper but to raise money how about saying either make a donation off your own back (to me at however much you wish to donate then i will collect it all and send it in) or a set figure of 20,30,40,50 quid (which ever people think is fair again sent to me to collect it all then i will send it off) if i get can some opinions i can start to sort it out please please please people need some response to this or it will never get of the ground PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE i have given as much info as possible but without replies from this point this will be very hard to sort out, so please need you thoughts and opinions thanks steve
  6. Right then people i am thinking of trying to arrange a charity track day for cancer research as i lost my father to pancreatic cancer last year. I was thinking of setting it up at BEDFORD AUTODOME to take place sometime in the summer as yet i have no idea of price, but i am hoping they may reduce the cost as it is for charity, and i was thinking to keep it within the subaru sites, so on here, scoobynet, p1woc, type r forums. as this is just a call out to see if anyone would be interested as i am sure one of the first things that i will be asked is how many people/cars will be likely to be involved.. so if you would be interested obviuosly depending on price could you please COPY the NAME LIST into you reply post and put your name down on this list along with your user name and year/model so i can start getting this rolling. many thanks steve 1) steve - stevie1982 - MY99 UK TURBO 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) 9) 10)
  7. hi i aam trying to find a good insurance quote i have got a quote from greenlight insureance and they have quoted me £1400 on a R reg uk turbo 2000 with the prodrive kit i am 23 with 4yrs ncb is this a good deal or if it is not how much would you expect to pay and who else can i try thanks steve
  8. get a jap one lol yeah i would but the insurance will be a killer on a jap model compared to a uk version the reason why i wont this one is as i said i know what i am buying if he had brought the jap version in the first place i would still buy it, there are soo many dogs out there that have not been looked after atleast i should (touch wood) have peace of mind. any how its been rolling road and pushes out 260bhp which i think is more than enough for ther uk roads (as of course none of us speed) can i ask what makes the jap version soo much better to a uk model, obviously they come with more power than a standard uk model but the prodrive kit is standard and has pushed it up to 260 so ehat has the jap got that the uk hasn't sorry if i am being stupid but i dont know too much about these cars thanks steve
  9. thanks mate i have been toying with the idea of getting one for a long while but always left it as you never know what you are buying but as its my mates and he has had no issues with it and has looked after it i guess it was just about the right one turning up at the right time. just hope some people can give me a rough idea i was thinkong it should be worth around 5k - 5.5k but need to be sure thats all thanks steve
  10. hi guys i need some help please i am in the process of doing a car swap with a very good friend as he wants to down grade as he has had his fun for now in his subaru and wants something a bit cheaper to run (ie my mk3 gti) but what i dont want to do is pay over the odds or do him out of any cash so i thought the best place to ask would be on here. basicly he has got a: R reg uk turbo 2000 with a prodrive kit (exhaust, chip, rims etc) also fitted a quick shift box and a dump valve. it has FSH bar one and has done 83,000 miles on the clock how much would you think its worth? as i say i dont want to do him out or do myself out ethier any help would be great many thanks and hope to be a new owner very soon steve
