  1. still got the Scenic for the dog but changed jobs and now travel 40 miles to work so I bought a 1.0 Aygo for getting to and fro MPG in the 50's but I have to drive past my old scoob almost every day, dont think I will stick the noddy car for long but need the good fuel economy
  2. shame about the type r it was a very special car but always loved the WR1, how are you finding it? you would never guess what I am driving now, no Scoob on the horizon just yet i'm afraid
  3. hello mate, just been working hard No lie...I hardly know how to work this computer anymore How are you?
  4. thanks all, good to see some familiar names around
  5. Just logged in for the first time in ages, hope everyone is ok[] Craig
  6. A lot going around at the moment (specially down our way, Dorset etc) I am suffering with it too. From what I hear it will last 3/4 weeks, dose up and get on with things mate, dont let it beat you Craig
  7. Sorry Cliff just logged on Me and Vic are keeping fine thanks, missing the Scoob but plans are an Evo X in a year or twos time so cant complain[] Hope you and your wife are doing ok (oh and the dog!) good to see you did'nt sell up, I read your post on Snet and it was insulting what you were offered considering how your car stands (mods, condition etc) Dont know about SWMS, I dont know if you know my mate James with the blue modded type r who was there last year (car was absolutely disgusting and we were hassling him to clean it) well he will be my chauffeur this year so I suppose its up to him really. Speak to you soon matey[] Craig
  8. Maybe it was being a bit optimistic that anyone on here would have read Scooby magazine, never mind
  9. hi there evryone, havent been on for a while i'm still about usually just reading though I dont subscribe to Scoobymag and i havent managed to track a shop down that has the latest issue so just a quick question that hopefully somebody will be able to answer. A while back when the new Subaru concept car was being mentioned Scooby magazine posted on here that any Photoshop atempts at improving the looks of it would be entered into a competition and the results would be in the next issue, well I mailed them a pic and had a reply saying that it was good enough to feature in the mag[] Just wondering if its in there, am I famous?, did I win? Thanks everyone and hope everyones ok, hope to see you all at shows this year (unfortunately the type r I will be arriving in wont be mine[])
  10. I blew up an aftermarket VTA dump valve whilst accelerating trying to keep up with someone in a similar looking bugeye to mine at the SWMS last year It caused the engine to run very roughly and stall at idle, the engine management light also came on, do you have the standard DV on? the only reason I could tell it was my DV was the noise, if yours is a recirc then it may be worth investigating
  11. My next car will be an Evo X, saving as we speak (why do you think i'm happily driving a Renault Scenic around)
  12. Nothing wrong with Domestic installers, If they are time served electricians (know a few without approved status) then any electrical work done will be as good a standard as the approved guys If not time served electricians (ie kitchen fitters) then you may be competent to do some small trade specific works but when it comes to ALL electrical work then i'm sorry but to me it looks like a fast track apprenticeship minus the theory Its a bit like taking your car to kwik-fit for a gearbox rebuild
  13. << Only in the kitchen otherwise he is breaking the law, otherwise he is basically saying that after a week he is a fully qualified domestic electrician? >> I'm afraid not If the kitchen fitter has NIC domestic installer status (1 week course required) he can do anything he likes. sad but true
  14. The way I would like to see it done (and I suspect every other time-served electrician) is a registration scheme where you have your qualifications checked (not week courses, 2360 1&2, 2391, etc) and maybe some work assessed, pay a MINIMAL fee and then (and only then) can you carry out installations and buy materials (clear the DIY superstores and only allow electrical wholesalers to stock it). I see Part P as great in theory but it has turned into a money-making scheme in practice, I dont think you should be able to work on any electrical installation until competent and it makes me laugh when I hear people claiming they know everything, I have worked as a Maintenance electrician for 10years and I am still learning.
  15. Good to hear from you dave Just been offerred a job but it is permanent nights and approx an hour away, the job looks good but dont know how i'd handle nights all of the time (could be better than rotation) trouble is the more down about your job you are the more tempting each offer looks speak to you soon
  16. As well as being under threat of redundancy (extended now until April, been going on since last August) I have been told that I am required to work up until the 23rd and in again boxing day until New years eve and then back on the 2nd The only xmas parties that I could have gone to were organised this week with me working evenings and my other halfs place did'nt invite partners so I was a taxi that night, apartently as a xmas treat on Friday my department are invited to bucks fizz in the morning a xmas quiz in the afternoon along with a buffet, I however will be working evenings again with no hot food on offer working on my own! Sorry to sound like a scrooge but I love xmas and this year its almost like its just passed me by, havent even got my Scoob no more to cheer me up anyone got any funnies to make me smile? PS a massive MERRY CHRISTMAS to all you guys, its coming on here etc that keeps me sane
  17. and then just put your graphics back on and jobs a goodun! good news m8, chuffed for you
  18. << Im personally not that interested in watching Supercars out of my price range week in week out. Just my thoughts though >> If I did'nt watch programs about cars out of my price range i'd only ever watch scrapheap challenge
