  1. Stig, I agree that Norris is more for the tuning end. It'd be worth visiting Scoobyzone as they comprise of South West members and I'm sure someone in there will be able to offer some suggestions. Kevin www.scoobyzone.co.uk
  2. What has put you off the Bridgestones? Bad experience or just up for a change? Although I have F1s fitted and think they are a great tyre I'm probably going to try a set of Bridgestones next - I found when I drove an Integra Type R the Bridgestone was a better tyre in the dry and the less flexible side walls meant I got better steering feel - mind you the big heavy Subaru lump might not feel much different! Kevin
  3. Meguiars Scratch X is pretty good - might be worth also trying one of those 'coloured' polishes, not the greatest but they might blend it in. I think longer term a body shop visit is the only way ahead depending on your level of fussiness. Kevin
  4. << We rode bikes in packs of 7 and wore our coats by only the hood. ! >> Remember actually holding up the ends of the jacket to catch the wind and being blown onto the ground! Also had a chopper (easy) and ignoring the sign of no passengers with at least 3 mates on board as we sped down hills! Kevin P.S. Mobile phones, hey you've not lived unless you were part of the AM CB Community with a DV 27 connected to the car wing (well of my mum's car)
  5. It does look rather good - remember an RS6 destroying my attempts to keep up once - well it does have marginally more power! Kevin
  6. Thanks Stormy for that, looks like full Milltek around £750 plus remap being another £600, not far off a PPP, but far enough to allow some other toys to be bought!! Kevin
  7. Whilst at Castle Coombe I spoke to a very helpful chap from the Miltek Exhaust stand. He was 'selling' the full turbo back system with metal catalyst included. The claim made was an increase of 35 bhp from just fitting this. Couple of queries; Does this sound realistic? Has anyone got this system fitted and can the let me know their experiences please? How can you fit a system that delivers that amount of benefit and not require a remap - I'm thinking better flow requiring more fuel etc, or does the standard ECU have sufficient room to accomodate? Any thoughts, real experience would be appreciated. Thinking about it of course I'd imagine the re-map would 'spread the benefit' as opposed to a single peak that fitting the system might only deliver?? Kevin
  8. Phil, I got caught out with the pass problem and had to come back out of Coombe past all the traffic, and then when I entered the correct gate the attendant sent my the wrong way. Luckily an SIDC umbrella carrying chap helped point me in the right direction! Not that I want SIDC to have special priviledges but, if we came in through the gate for the trade and disabled at the top of the track and then parked in the large green area that is (here is an explanation that'll have you scratching your head) parallel with the straight part of the track just before the start / finish but after the 'twisties'. I'll try and look up the track map to explain it better. Reference the trade stands, its just suggests Castle Coombe need to get a business manager in and get professional - the revenue stream is there!! Now if you could sort the weather out,...... Kevin
  9. Granby, Glad to have met you yesterday, I was with another chap admiring your wagon whilst you were changing over your number plates. There we were thinking you'd made a few mods and then you started listing the bits that have been changed!!!! Lovely wagon and a fantastic sound. Kevin << << Granby was that you going round the track at 1pm? Denise x >> Yes it was, i wasn't going to slow was i >>
  10. My thanks also, well organised by the SIDC 'car-park' guides who were very helpful. Reference the lack of stands, have the trade not caught on yet that there is a lucrative market 'fenced-in'? Kevin
  11. julian, where abouts in Scotland did you drop off the delivery? The journey must have felt bloomin endless - did the HGV's cause you to shake a bit? Kevin
  12. Rasher, Thanks for the offer mate. Reference the parking over 2 spaces, think that is the future for me. As for Tileys, might end up parking on the grass verge at the front with the for sale cars! Kevin
  13. Down in Bristol Rasher, good to hear I'm not the only one who gets just a tad annoyed. Er indoors just says its not something important and then wonders why I'm a tad annoyed Kevin. Might try the Swindon dealer
  14. Over the last week my poor wagon has taken some abuse from the dreaded door dingers! Parked in Tileys (Subaru Bristol) came out to the car after leaving it in the customer car park for a morning. Passenger wing mirror scratched, but the best bit was the driver door heavily dinged and the paint lifted. There is now a lovely dent in the top crease mark just in front of the mirror. To top it all tonight the family ate out came back to the car and now the rear drivers door has been smacked right in the middle, nice little dent and the paint is now light green where it has been wacked. What is it with people and their inability to open their doors carefully. Looks like an expensive visit by dent removal firm, and all the dents are on different doors so that'll be costly, and then there is the painting. I'm really worried that one day I'll catch someone doing it - accidents are ok but these buffons knew they'd damaged the car and then proceeded to drive off. Kevin Rant over - so nicely dented for Japfest, class!
