Hi Kev Glad u like it - I'm well pleased, its surprisingly quick (ok ok - its the same weight as a fag packet) but boy oh boy does it handle Am up 4 track days (even off to the ring l8r this year ) let me know what & when u've got things planned and I'll get myself organised Tim

hey - I'll have u know I wax my chest on a regular basis!!!!! Seriously - get license back at end of March - car ready start of march won't be enjoying that wait as I'm away to the states with work at the end of March so there is a chance I won't be able to pick it up till I get back (prob mid April)!! and ur right, it does go like stink, well up to 100-110 anyway, quicker than my scoob anyway. I've gone for the VVC engine which has got a fair chunk of power over the basic model. Don't think I'll be at crail much with it, its not really a straight line machine, the handling is streets ahead of my understeery UK turbo (appreciate ur type r will be heaps better handling than mine was). Will defo be down a few times for a look out. Am looking at doing a lot more track days 2 at knockhill planned already, I'm also away to hockenheim & Cadwell park this year. << hope you got a free box of head gaskets for that crap rover engine.its nice mate very nice.was out in one at knockhill last year, fantastic.not very good if your on the plump side though! >> thought about this but I've got pals that have them with 30k+ hard miles on with no problem (they are both VVC too) - oh, and I'm on the atkins to combat the latter comment!!

Hi there guys and gals 2 x bad news and 1 x good news - the company car plan fell through.......... insurance on a scoob is a total no go with a recent ban (not quite true but I refuse to pay in the region of £2k) and the good news I've just ordered this - which will certainly do for now!! Tim
-
Johnny Had mine round Knockhill with hardly any probs (well up till lap 10 anyway, then it was fade away time ) Had pagid pads in mine, as CAZ says, the main breaking point is into the hairpin and mine was well over 100 by the time I was there and into the breaking zone - so you need to make sure everything is spot on with ur current set up. I must admit I drove it very hard and was impressed with how the brakes held up for 2pots. Have fun m8 - its the thrill of a lifetime!! Tim

you'll all be sick as parrots - I'm pushing for an STI8 with PPP, just waiting for it get signed off (will cost a fortune in co car tax, but hey thats just a detail), its really touch and go whether I can get it or not. My boss asked me what the £2k optional extra was (ppp) managed to persuade her that it was a necessary safety package, which is sort of is as it will allow me to overtake much more safely License back in 8 weeks.....!!!!... yyyeeesssssss, at last - its killing me congrats on the house - can't beat having your own place - just had my place done by an interior designer with all the money saved from not running a car, its a right sh........ pad now!!
-
good news people - its looking like I CAN get an impreza thru work!! how happy am I????
-
I know I know Jaq - but if its not on the list -I can't get it, end of story - and a scoob ain't on the list
-
I cairn - but the lcr has 225 brake now and brembo brakes etc - plus I'm thinking chip = 265ish brake, would be a very quick car Don't know if I can go back to sh1tty 2 wheel drive tho...........
-
Mmmm - good question craig - have been given the option of a company car - which is good, and totally unexpected - but scoob isn't on the list - tastiest thing there is a Seat Leon Cupra R decisions decisions..........
-
Now then Miss Sti, what we need is this aggression on the start line, u'll be knocking in 11's before you know it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Craig - friction disc could be glazed up a bit, try a few full throttle starts and see how it is. Mine was doing it a while ago, went to crail, did a few of my usual 'light' take offs, and het presto, no more problem!
-
6 month ban........................
-
johnny - u have to make sure its shrunk enough, email me the image if you want and I'll email it back the right size (tim_wilkinson@email.com)
-
not in till thurs morning Craig - got a few things up our sleeve but I reckon its a defo ban like, a ton+ and a 99mph on my license already will make certain of that. Have definetly got someone to drive the car down to crail for me tho so I will be there. I vote we all stick together and have a wee competition between us all - good idea? Jaq - u have to give us all a 1 sec buffer tho!!! ha ha
-
no not going craig, am in court next week for totting up from speeding - will defo get banned so I won't be able to drive. Looking for folk to drive my car to crail, think I've got someone lined up. Johnny most of my times are in 13's, some very early 14's if I've had a crappy reaction (0.7+) - key is to go when the amber one goes off - not when the green comes on When's everyone off to Crail again?? I'll get a driver lined up!
-
jeez - suppose my mine's quite quick for a uk with a decat then?
-
Johnny - I think u should know Miss Scooby's car is an sti type r, the way it goes I reckon its got about 300ish, its probably a good 75-80 brake up on us dopes that bought uk models!! From what I have seen the type r's get off the line a lot better (trick centre diff), I'm sorely tempted to ditch the UK and find an sti over winter - especially as I'm away to be banned next week for what looks like 6 months (speeding) - not bothered tho, was thinking about taking it off the road for winter anyway!
-
JohnnyR6 - cheers for the info re the photo - hadn't realised it was up there - new wallpaper on the PC at work me thinks!!
-
u'll have to come in with me next time craig - I've never got more than 4500-5000 when I set off, and I don't side step the clutch, just feed it in (fairly briskly) as soon as I feel the wheels start to spin I make sure the clutch is all the way out. Honestly don't know if this is the right or the wrong way but it seems to work fairly well. OR it could just be that I'm a bloody good driver???!!!????!!?!? ha ha
