  1. cheers John - I'll pass it on
  2. I am trying to find out if there are any plans for another Alford track day like last year?? The SEAT site I used to be involved with is interested in attending again, although after seeing photos and video clips there are more than 3 interested in attending this year Any dates in the pipeline?? Cheers Mike
  3. Another non Scoob.....
  4. I used fancyplates and had no problems with them. I got standard front & rears, and a 3/4 size front also... never used the front cos the ATR has a moulded insert for the front plate that looked odd with the short plate not filling it.... Anyway, resorted to my oddly spaced plates for now anyway (but not my super dodgy spaced ones! show use only for them after my bro got pulled twice in a week for his!! (we have identical plates except mine start with M and his start with D ) got the spaced ones from GT Graffix on the web.... They were also good. Mike
  5. no, but my brother has used Kinhorn in Blackburn... bit £££ but excellent quality of work. They do all the work for T&C Porsche... Mike
  6. Stick with the CTR for now Cal - depreciation, as already mentioned, will kick in on the earlier STI's... that plain one looked a bit dull, and with the running cost of the Scoob you'll not have much ££s to do anything to it. CTR is looking & sounding wicked. Keep it a while longer until you get the scoob you want. I have been through so many cars cos I wanted 1 but bought another out of haste (eg, wanted Nova SR for 1st car... bought 1.2 SR "lookalike" kept it for 9 months... wanted Cavalier GSI, bought a 1.6 with view of doing it up to look like a GSI but never did anything to it and sold it after 1 year.... wanted Fiesta RS Turbo... bought an XR2i and sold after a year...) - pays to wait cos then you enjoy it more All I did was lose money on cars I never really wanted!! Wait for the STI
  7. Checkpoint were £152 for the pair fitted & balanced. Excellent. Never thought they would be that cheap! Mike
  8. there can be issues with the radio frequencies - that is why there are so many "cheap" units from the US on ebay.... Ask at a dealer cos you should be able to get a double DIN unit in the UK.
  9. I know this has been asked in the past, and I know I have answered "checkpoint" but I am looking at new tyres (either Toyo T1s or Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD2) and was wondering where would fit them if I got them mail order, and how much to fit? I have seen them both for £290 delivered for a set of 4.... Not sure how much Checkpoint would be for the Toyo's supplied & fitted... They are 215/45-17 Cheers Mike
  10. Yeah, I reckon the 7000rpm and a quick sidestep has taken it's toll on Jools clutch! (ps - I found an exhaust waiting to hear about a house 1st though )
  11. prob wednesday for motoring section
  12. << well I was well chuffed, elise has 156 standard, equating to 197 per tonne - it came out at 169.5 (just a filter, albeit a very expensive carbon jobbie & a Lotus race exhaust) which means I'm at 211 bhp per tonne Tim >> Yes, and I think I saw every one of those bhp round bends on a wee scoot to Potterton and back. Much enjoyment/excitement/brown troosers! Cheers though, really enjoyed it! Mike
  13. just have to be careful around their wording surrounding the"300bhp"..... Nice car though, and once set up right I bet it will fly!! I was chuffed - 211bhp which is 2 up on standard, and with me only having a JR panel filter I'd say that was pretty much spot on.... Car needs serviced next month (£230), and now Gav has got me thinking about a unichip (£430), cat back exhaust (£??).... and I need 2 new tyres (£200)..... Expensive hobby this Good fun though!! Nice to meet more folk off here! Had a great day, and look forward to the next event. Mike
  14. I might be a tad short of the 300bhp target I'll give it a go though!
  15. it would not have been a bad day - that is the owners mentallity. He cannot be bothered - if you don't buy then you are a timewaster. Nice attitude. Not. And yes his cars have always been WAY over priced.
  16. jeez, what happened??
  17. Loving my ATR clip - although Cal missed the schmokin' take off
  18. Ignore this Managed to get hold of a van for tomorrow afternoon instead of Sunday so still free for this! Mike
  19. << Mike; sorry I did not get the chance to ay hello; figured it was you in the red Type R, but you guys were away before I got a chance to catch up with you. Too busy playing? >> No worries Jools - VERY impressed with your STI - it just holds the corners perfect! The ATR was bad for understeer, as were a few other cars today, but yours seemed to be stuck on line. Sweet.
  20. hmmmm, 1m16.18s didn't feature then?? At least I was the fasted Accord Type R on the day
  21. yeah! I loved it as usual! Different layout this time so couldn't compare to SIDC day... My times were guff Drive home was pleasent.... P1 (Kev), CTR (Cal), ATR (me), STI 8 (Marc).... spent most of my time watching the STI 8 in my rear view mirror! (Memo to self - new age STI next!). MArk - car sounded mental as you flew past me!
  22. no idea what time it starts so can't suggest a time to meet at Kingswells! 9.30/10am?
  23. time to head out? park & ride @ kingswells?
  24. looked cool Cal May have to think about a CTR next with a nice can on the back of it! Just nothing out there for the ATR... not that I have seen yet anyway
