  1. Dont know if folk are still playing the ring at the moment but finally brushed the dust of the PS2 and only managed a 6:47 lap in the chevy race car, but recon i could get it down more!!!

    << now 6.24:762 >>

That a pretty good time man, has spurred me on a wee bit to get some practise in face-icon-small-wink.gif

  2. Mine would have to be my Hayward and Scott decat or the carbon bonnet with larger scoop (just cant decide!!).

I love the H&S Exhaust for the pure rumbling tone it gives you, always brings a grin to my face. With the bonnet the car just looks so bling and the larger scoop gives it more of an agressive feel, plus the carbon looks great against the silver paintwork. face-icon-small-wink.gif

  3. Looking very nice! face-icon-small-smile.gif

Sorry to be the black sheep of the bunch but i recon it would look best coloured to match the rest of the trim. Just my opinion although having a colour coded splitter on my scooby i have found i get loads of stone chips over time so you may be best off leaving it as is, looks good either way!! face-icon-small-wink.gif

  4. << Soz igy of the list agin, >>

Just when i thought i was playing with the big boys again face-icon-small-smile.gif no worries paddy i will be back!!

It is good to know what other times folk are getting but would be intresting to see what model and modifications people have to their scoobs to get their quoted times.

  5. Dam been knocked out of the top 15! Well it was fun while it lasted face-icon-small-wink.gif

Just keep getting compelled to spend my money on the looks of the car rather than the engine where the money should truely go!!!! However finally got a wee bit of cash so AWD here i come face-icon-small-smile.gif

Lets see if i can get back in the top 15, bring it on face-icon-small-happy.gif

  6. Hey Simmie that is a scorcher of a time for the 1/4 mile and with 330bhp!! Nice one face-icon-small-happy.gif. I keep getting tempted to put in a nice fat bottle of nitrous on my scooby but am unsure what kind of supporting mods that may need to be done, any suggestions?

I really need to get some more power in my scoob, at least for now i can race with Paddy and Gumball and stand a chance face-icon-small-wink.gif ..... but it not the winning that counts, its how much rubber you burn!!

As i was going to be spashing out some pennies on the scoob i was just wondering what folks opinions were on the modifications that were the most benificial to reducing the 1/4 mile times?

  7. Yeah man got me a H&S downpipe fitted by those boys and the scooby's never been better, full on throttle response and i never get tired of the pops you get on the occational gear change. face-icon-small-smile.gif

<< was up Kinloch Rannoch and had a great time on the twistys >>

Those roads were made for the scooby, am tempted with another trip up just for the drive face-icon-small-happy.gif

<< I should be getting decatted in the new year, can't wait! >>

D4wgy the difference is like night and day and i fully recommend AWD with their H&S system!! Gave me nearly a second drop over the 1/4 when timed at Crail....bring on the decat!! Oh have you checked out any of those CD's you were intrested in before, hope you liked them!

  8. Managed to get a 13.4 over the 1/4 mile out of a MY00 classic Uk turbo 2000 with a full decat and green filter, makes me grin!! face-icon-small-smile.gif

<< The uk classic scooby could shift jamie, they have not to be underestimated. >>

I will second that being a pround uk classic scooby owner face-icon-small-wink.gif managed to get the better of a few STi's at Crail which just goes to show

Thought i would try get a list going! Looking at that makes me want to open the wallet and let AWD or Andy F work some of their magic and bring me down to the 12's face-icon-small-happy.gif

    12.? Rs Grant

    12.9 Col 666

    13.3 Hi Scoob

    13.4 Iqy

    13.7 Paddy

  9. I think it really depends on how you drive. When i have taken trips down to England to the folks place which is about 200 ish miles away i have managed as little as £25 for the journey which involves half twisting roads and half motorways. However recently when i was feeling a little more 'spirited' when driving up i managed to use £40+ over the 200 miles!!

So depends on the driving i think, if you have a heavy right foot then expect loads of petrol to be guzzled!! However i find gentle acceleration up to a similar top speed gives better fuel consumption.

Mainly though owning a 2 litre turbo'd car you just have to expect and accept high fuel consuption face-icon-small-wink.gif .... but hell i would never trade the scooby for anything else.

  10. Waves a plenty off many a scooby!! My girl thinks i am crazy waving at every scooby i see but after some good responses she begun to see the light face-icon-small-wink.gif .

Nice one to all you folk that i have had a wave from, and apologies to any i missed waving to due to spirited driving or yapping to my lady! See you on the road with a big wave and a grin!!

  11. << Is this up pipe any good as i got sent it instead of a Helix up pipe? >>

Not experience with the quality of existing up-pipes on the market, but from chatting to folk when i was thinking of replacing the headers i was adviced to consider going for an up-pipe that did not have any type of flexi joint on the piping due to the weave being much weaker than a solid pipe. I am unsure to what degree this is true but just what i been told, hope it is of some help to you.

not got a clue about you other questions face-icon-small-tongue.gif

  12. Same as you guys i take it easy for the first little bit and the last part of my journey, then usually give it a minute before i switch it off! Not got a Turbo timer or anything so i go for a minute to be on the safe side face-icon-small-wink.gif

<< Pretty much the same for me BUT when the thermostat says "I'm ready" the oil temp gauge says the opposite. It can easily take 10 miles of mixed running before the oil is up to operating temperature. I was amazed at how long it took at first. >>

I have not got a oil temp gauge in the scooby but have noticed that even after the thermostat temperature is warmed up to normal operating temp i still feel the car is lacking a wee bit of response, however after about five to ten minutes the car seems to liven up more. Was wondering if this possibly had something to do with the temperature of the oil and the fact that it takes longer to heat up? Just to be on the safe side i tend to just take it easy not going over 2500-3000 rpm till i feel the change in the response.

  13. Not sure if my taste is to anyone elses liking but being a rocker through and through usually some form of heavy metal, rock or hip-hop!

D4WGY nice choice of tunes, me likes!!

At the mo got over 100 albums in the car in the mp3 player but to name a few:

    Disturbed - 10 000 Fists

    Trapt - Someone in Control

    Ra - Duality

    Dope - American Apathy

Mudvayne - The end of all things to come

    Piston - Number One

    Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030

........ and the list goes on!! Nothing like a good bit of heavy metal blasting when on a b-road runing high boost, although at times i do just sit back and let the Hayward and Scott provide my sound track to the road, cant beat that flat four burble!!face-icon-small-smile.gif

  14. So unfair yet another thing to get nailed for on the road, i really think the police should try and focus more of their attention away from the motorists as they always seem to be the but end of some new initiative.

Although when i was thinking about it many of your performance cars like your Ferrari's and Porches have loud as hell exhausts as standard, if they were to be fair that would mean a ban on those cars to!! Do they even make silenced exhausts for a Ferrari face-icon-small-wink.gif
