That is bloody scary stuff man, glad you got away ok and nothing serious happened to yourself!! Did sound like a carjacking especially if there were 2 cars with folk in them coming for you, dam shame that things have got like this these days [:@].

according to the bridgestone chart at my work, factory sized 17"tyres should run 31f 33r
Thats exactly the tyre pressure i use on my 17's [
]
The way i did it was to just experiment a bit until i found something that suited my driving style as each to their own! [

No big stereo, no neons and daft kits, just power.[6]
Whats big power without a big stereo, driving about just doesn't feel the same without the rumble of the flat four echoed with the rumble of some choice tunes from the subs and 6x9's! [
]
Wish i could make it up for this one but will be down in England so have to miss this and Crail on Sunday [:@]

Just to add to the comments
I have tried the Mintex 1144 and
1155 and found both to be cracking pads. I have had the fortune to try
both pads on city, country road and track driving conditions. I found
the mintex 1144's to give excellent bite from cold and still retained
that level of bite down a country road blast (over the course of 3
hours straight []). When at Crail during the hard braking on the last
leg on the 1/4 mile there was loads of bite from them however the
second i was onto the track i found the pads heated up far too much to
the point where after about 3 minutes of spirited driving they were
severely compromised in the amount of bite they delivered, in fact it
was so bad i decided to pit in only to stop and see the pads smoking
away!! The pads seem to wear at a moderate rate but have not had them
long enough on the car to comment much on this also i have noticed
moderate amounts of brake dust when using these. The
1155's were pretty good from cold but needed a few brakes to heat them
up to their typical standard, when they do heat up the bite is awesome
(more so than the 1144's). I personally find these brakes fine around
town and excellent on country roads, at Crail and especially on the
track. The wear on the pads was pretty moderate over the a couple on
months driving and a trackday (with me not holding back on my
braking!!) added to this i have only experienced a moderate amount of
brake dust from the pads! All in all i would say that the
1155's were my particular favorite of the two primarily for its
versatility over all sorts of driving conditions and the higher levels
of bite that you get from them compared to the 1144's and the fact that
i want to use the car on the occasional trackday. I would add that due
to the pads not biting as hard as they typically do when heated if you
have a tendency to drive close to other cars bumpers on occasion then
there is the risk you could underestimate the braking of the pads and
bump into them or if you have to brake suddenly you may initially not
have that same level of bite, however i have not had any problems using
them!As for disks the only ones i have tried are the standard
Hope that is of some help?[
ones and the grooved black diamond discs. I have had no problem with
the black diamond discs but have noiced that the feel of the brake
pedal was not quite as smooth as the standard discs, this does not
affect the braking performance so i think the feel i was getting is
from the pads rubbing against the discs grooves. I was advised by many
people against getting the drilled discs as they are proven to cracking
if they are put under a lot of stress (as would be seem at a trackday).
I would however maybe next time go for the Tarox grooved discs as they
have more grooves on the disc for better cooling and just to test out
but as they were priced at nearly twice that of the black diamond my
budget could not quite afford it at the time when i got the brakes
done.

Have to say i am not too keen on the new scooby effort, dont think it suits being a hatchback. There are elements of it that are definately cool like the vent that is molded into the bonnet and the rear trim near the exhaust but all in all not quite as complete looking as the new Civic type R or the V6 Clio. Guess i would have to see it in the flesh before i pass final judgement. [

Our boy Andy F never fails to to work wonders on scoobs!! [

About the resonator box removal was wanting to do this to my scoob at some point as i already have the IC hoses in place. I remember a while back someone posted a 'how to' about this up and i still had the link kicking about
http://www.scoobytuner.com/tuning/?tSfID1=19&tuningID=9
Hope it helps! [

Flipping heck mate that is a complete world of difference, i am pretty gobsmacked just looking at it! [

I know who to call when i want some touching up done to my scooby!! In fact my other halves paint work on her Nissan Micra is looking a bit dull like, the audi, and i tried the Meguires treatment but never got anywhere near the results you have there. So was that all just from a mechanical polisher and some rubbing compound? Please do tell [

I had something similar with my classic after i put on a set of Samco IC hoses. As with yourself turned out that the problem was me not quite tightening up the one jubilee clips to the hose. So made sure to tightening it back up as tight as i could and have had no issues.
Was cautious when i went back out on the road for a while, but been to crail and a trackday since and everything is running like clockwork so i reckon you should be ok [

Cheers for the suggestions and offers for wheels but i think that the time has come to get bigger alloy wheels and my old 16" wheels with its remaining tread could do me for the next trackday. [
]. Been dying to get some 17's on the car for some time now but always end up putting it off, so nows my chance to sort it out. So if anyone out there has a decent set of 17's out there give me a shout!!
Great pics. Lovin the silver classic with the
big spoiler and the carbon (I thnk) bonnet. Yes, yes ok I said it,
right! I said somethign nice about a Classic.Cheers mate!! Classics all the way for sure [
] The bonnet is a cosmetic carbon fibre bonnet (as opposed to the real thing) but still loads lighter than the old steel one, fits a treat and looks sweet!! Glad i cleaned the Scoob a fews days before the trackday so it was looking its best for the photos.

Some cracking photos there mate!! Loads of my Scooby in action [
].
Was cool meeting you k19wrx (sorry i never even caught your name) and cheers again for the lend of your jack [

All round was a great day with cracking weather. Have to say i was so impressed with the cornering on those Evo's they really were leaving me for dust! Guess its time to maybe get some Whiteline goodies onto the car in preparation for next time. Also wish i had a spare set of wheels as i have nearly demolished most of the tread on mine. At least it gives me an excuse to invest in a new set of wheels and tyres..... nice set of 17's me thinks [

I'm itching to get up to the next Crail!!

Thanks for the suggestions folks and cheers for stating what we were all thinking Acid [
When i was up at AWD on Friday they]
reconed that all the body parts should be a straight swop as for engine
mods many of the 2.0L sport should be compatable. My mate was pretty
chuffed to hear it although nothing beats the grunt from a turbo'd
scoob []

Hi folks, been a while since i last posted anything but thought i would pit yer brains a bit!
<>A
mate of mine has a classic 1.6 GL Impreza and was after improving the
looks and performance (if possible []). We were wondering if body
parts of any of the classic turbos would fit onto his Impreza? Has
anyone tried or seen this done? Also are there any performance mods
that would fit onto his scooby ie induction kits, exhausts, etc?I
have tried to convince him to buy a turbo Impreza but he is after a
fuel economical, turbo looking scooby (for now at least []). So
suggestions please..... -

Thought since the thread was going
again i should put up my best time. Unfortunately the guys at Crail
managed to write my name as IAY and my car as a SCOBBY but i assure you
all that was me keeping it real in my Scobby!![

Never tried it as i just love my spoiler far too much to take it off, but i suppose you cant argue with the figures.
I guess if you are serious about quarter mile runs then improving the
scoobs areodynamics would definately play a major part and be more
noticable at higher speeds when the drag on the car becomes greater. I
recon aswell you would get better better fuel economy due to the
reduced drag, faster car and better fuel economy all round your a
winner [
]
On an areodynamics note i have found little difference when you fold in
your wing mirrors, which i was told by a certain some one would assure
me a reduction of 0.2s over a quarter mile!! Could be down to the
consistency of my driving or the speeds my scoob is capable of at the
end of the quarter mile not giving an appretiable drag but i would say
for now this Myth is well an truely busted!! [

After the performance of the top few Scoobs yesterday I get the feeling
that i could do with some of that BHP development treatment [
]
........ well maybe when this bum student gets some more cash
together!!
At least i have a little of the AndyF magic going on but hungry for more bhp!!!

Nice one mate cant wait to see what you beast can do on the 10th!! [

Cool looking motor man, really like black scoobies!!
That first picture is really sweet with the mini rainbow effect, very artistic [

-
power-to-weight ratio is a stunning 0.9kg per bhp and Weineck
claims 124mph in 4.9 seconds and 0-187mph in 10 seconds
Foook me!!! [

] Better get saving up now then!!

Glad you got your scoob up and running again!! [

I can't believe how excited I was to be driving it again today!Guess absence makes the heart fonder!! [

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Grant and all the boys at AWD for a bang up job (as always) servicing my scooby ;-). Also i cant recommend enough to people to get some whiteline bushes on to your scooby (especially if you own a classic like me), the rear diff supports and steering rack bushes and the adjustment to the rear roll bar have really tightened up the feel of the scooby when i was driving home, all set now for a little spirited driving down the windy roads! :-)
Cheers Again lads, hopefully see you all at the open day.
