  3. I cant wait to see how you get on Scott as your build will be well finished before my one!! my plan is to have the fully built engine next month but i wont be putting it in the car until july as i will be doing my gearbox and twin plate clutch at the same time along with some wee bits and bobs, just going to keep busy offshore and have very few days at home until then so i dont go crazy and just wack in the engine!!!! want to do it all properly so i dont go back thinking......i wish i done this and that!!! Total excitement knowing its all coming together though!!! Good luck with you run in etc.......and keep my posted on how things go
  4. I bet you cant wait to get your block!!!! the only downfall is the run in, i bet you cant wait for that either Good luck with it
  5. Thanks for the info mate, i know its not for more power.....the reason i was going to do it was due to having my whole engine out to fit my new block and thought about doing it at the same time!! 2 much of a feck about though!! Jase
  6. Yeh i will be going with a rotated turbo, but that will be a few months yet as my clutch is costing £1300 and im getting the ppg straight cut gear kit to handle the power!! I was going to go with the 2.5 block with forged internals but i changed my mind due to speaking to a few places like roger clark etc etc they say when you get up to big big power the 2.5 block is the weak link and you get alot of cylinder movement......so CDB it is!!
  7. I had the exact same problem, intermitent......sometime great then sometimes just a click, if you turned the key back and forward quickly it would click click click then vroooom she started!!! Got my mate Simon to strip out the starter solenoid etc and all was ok, checked earths etc couldnt find anything wrong!! not saying this was the correct thing to do but i spent £150 on a optima red top battery and never had the problem again!! Jcscoob will vouch for me on that one!! Not saying thats the problem, just saying i had the EXACT same thing and it was a nightmare!!!!
  8. Engines getting built by Engine tuner Ltd, the guy Alan is really helpful and not one bit pushy!!! Yeh ive been doing alot of reading up and its just really to get rid of some lag, not really worth the hassle for the gain's is what im getting from speaking to some people and what ive been reading!! im just going to leave it and spend my money on other things like a new twin plate clutch to handle the power thats coming soon
  9. Cheers for the Links Paul!!! ive been sitting looking through all the pics trying to see what needs changed etc I will check scoobynet now
  10. Ok im changing my block to a 2.1 CDB with forged internals, 14mm head bolts etc etc and was thinking about doing the reverse inlet manifold mod at the same time!! my questions are what needs to be done for this?? I know the altinator position needs changed......is there a kit for this (new mounting braket) What else needs done?? Does anyone have any detailed pictures of one that has been done?? Your help would be mucho appreciated!!!! Jase

  12. Driving home through Dundee with my girlfriend in the car when a P1 with TAY in the reg started flying about infront of me, think he wanted a race.....glad i didnt when i seen him fly along dock street like a lunatic under taking a car and just missing it!!! its these sort of people who give subaru drivers a bad name!!!! If he wanted a race....the back roads or crail is the place to do that, also it didnt look fast......think he needs some upgrades!!!!! a.r.s.e!!!
  13. Thats soooooo gutting to see your car like that mate, i had my fuel pipe feeding my fuel rail spraying fuel out before.....smelt petrol and stopped to check it out, found down by the turbo the pipe had perished away (maybe due to methanol)!! so i was well lucky!! after that i got myself a fire extinguisher but dont know if that would do any good after seeing the picks you put up!!!! Anyway mate hope things get better for u!!!!! Jase
  14. I just put BC BR series coilovers on my car, really happy with them.......you get them for £649 and you can also get extenders for the damening adjusters for the rear so you can adjust it without having to rip out the rear seats, they only cost £24 overall really good!!! there is a 1-30 dampening setting on them so lots of room for playing about to get a good setting that you will like!!! i was quite surprised at how comfy the car feels when the dampening is set to a low value!!! I just fitted them myself then got Falkland performance to do the geometry setup.....its feeling great!!
  15. I put in 4 litres of meths with 40 litres of v-power every time but my car is mapped for it!! I buy it from Jennychem, for 25 litres its £27 and for a bit extra they deliver it to your door....the numbers 01634245666!!

  21. Yeh i have 18's on the car......i put them on thinking the 355's would fit but when i spoke to the guy at scoobyworld he said they are made for 2001 onwards but he has sold them to a few people that had classics and they modified the brackets but he was unsure of what they done!! If someone could tell me how to do it i would buy them straight away.....or even if they told me somewere that could do it i would put it in to get fitted!!! Jase
  22. I am away to buy 6 pot Ap's but i want to put the 355mm discs on my 99 classic, i have been told this can be done but you need to slightly modify the brackets to get them to fit........does anyone know what needs done to get them to fit?? Help!!!! Jase
