The pipe runs to the small brown unit which sits above the boost valve on the left, situated on the front of the suspension piller driverseide of your car! It is possible that the small brown unit I am talking about is your pressure regulator! (Just checked on my scoob) Wee Jock

Granby, from what i can gather i think I have two issues! 1. the coil packs breaking down under boost (I did fry one on Friday night, had to get a freebie from Barretts to keep me goin( thanks Phil!)) 2. the spark plug gaps should be .6 for my setup (also blew one of those as well, new NGK's another freebie from Barretts to keep me goin( thanks Phil!)) cheers wee jock

Yup its the new boost solenoid, having had a look through the AVC-R set up manual since I last posted apparently the "chattering" clicking noise is normal! (Does anyone else have this?) Car is not setup properly as we ran out of time, Simon's wee man in Japan sent him the wrong ECU! I am running with a second hand one at the moment till my new one arrives then Simon should be back to refit! Keep pestering Simon for advice, also thought I would ask on here as the more opinions you get you are more likely to find the common route cause of the problem! (If that makes sense!) wee jock

My Spark plug gap at the moment is .7 & I am getting new coil packs next week! I have also noticed when the car is in boost I get a chattering noise coming from the drivers side of the car, I have disconected the boost valve and it dissapears is this the norm for this type of valve, or do you have any ideas? cheers wee jock

Just had my car re-mapped with an Apexi & Apexi AVC-R installed, the car is running fine on 1 bar boost as soon as we put the car to 1.2 bar boost the car miss-fires like mad in boost conditions! What are the possible causes? All feedback greatly appreciated thanks wee jock Car is running with a VF34, FMIC, FPR, 550Inj, Scoobysports De-Cat, Walbro uprated pump, Forge Dump Valve, Apexi ECU & AVC-R

Bought it from ebay from Lancer Parts aka Flat4online! Simone is installing on Friady along with the Apexi Commander! Off to Barretts tomorrow for a parallel fuel feed, aeromotive fpr, 550cc injectors, uprated fuel pump all this on top of my fmic and hybrid turbo I'm expecting a bit of ooomph! []

<< wee jock, did you find out what the problem was when you went on long distances.? deano >> Deano, the prob was the passenger side caliper which was seized and was causing a build up of heat on the disk! New 4 pot calipers and shiney new disks solved the prob! Also the geometry on the wheels was well off, which caused the front tyres to wear on the inside! thanks for asking wee jock

Went to Newbury yesterday to Subaru 4U, to have some 4pots and new disks put on! Also had the laser alignment done along with new Mintex pads and nice shiney braided hoses. Len (The owner) supplied the pads and hoses, the total price for the work carried out was £234 inc vat! Breakdown of the bill is as follows: Brake fluid £3.78 Diamond Hose Kit £45 Labour to fit disks, calipers, hoses, pads (1 hr) £35 Geometry set up £35 all the above is plus vat! Len is an X Subaru mechanic, so he knows what he is doing! He doesnt rip you off, he is a sound bloke and I would recommend hime to anyone! Its a bit of a Trek from Canterbury but at those prices it is well worth it! Subaru 4U Unit 2A Faraday Rd Newbury Berks RG14 2AD 01635 35355

Cheers Granby! Found an old post from HOL, he recommended RM Tyres in Medway. Gave them a call and I can get the new Toyo T1R for £85 fitted! Seems good to me!

Anyone know where I can get Toyo tyres off the shelf? cheers wee jock

For the chap who mentioned Barretts, it was closed on Friday, it always seems to be closed. The problem with the car is that I have an intermittent shudder coming through the steering wheel, if I press the brakes it feels like the right hand side is pulling, if I brake hard it feels like the right hand side is dissapearing under me! This only happens now and again usually after an hour of driving, when I pull over and check the car and drive off again it has dissapeared Over the weekend it has developed a squeeking noise which seems like it is coming from the front drivers side wheel, could it be a wheel bearing?
-
Pele, I dont know if my wee car will make it that far! Surely there is someone local?
-
Anyone know a good Scooby Mechanic in the Canterbury area? Barretts seems to be closed again, they are never home! cheers

It may have been an off day for them! But I have the bills to prove it was a real bad for me! It cost me £60 + vat to find out what exactly was wrong with my non working temp gauge, Barretts gave me a new one on loan! I managed to source one at a cost of £40 and passed it on to Barretts as I could not be bothered striping the gauges down to swap them over to fit another! Basically I went to Extreme to get a derestriction and new dials installed, and in my opinion they were totally reckless when removing the temp gauge as it was totally crushed, motor housing fell off upon removal (diode and resistor bent where they were not meant to be) Please note I am just one unhappy customer, I am sure there are many happy customers with Extreme! I would rather pay that wee bit extra and go to the peolpe who know what they are doing! wee jock

Here is the phone number for Barretts Rally Workshop, 864537. I have trecked from Canterbury to Xtreme and I was not impresed by the work they carried out! They broke my Temp gauge couldnt fix it, gave me my car back with the temp gauge broken and it has cost ME £100 to get it replaced! Barretts are slightly dearer but at least they know what they are doing! They charge an extra £15 for your mot if your exhaust is decated, cheaper than Xtreme!
-
Daddy, try ebay they have lots of spares, accessories and Engines, some already modified with spare parts etc! You might be lucky as it wont brake the bank! Always worth a look!
-
Temp gauge is now sorted, had to be replaced! Unfortunately the gauge was broken when Xtreme installed my white dials I know have temporary one courtesy of Barretts Ralley Workshop in Canterbury Would like to thank the "Daddy" for offering his services Ps if anyone has a spare pm me! cheers
