What do you call the smaller black box thats between the Maf and the engine, got an air box (but not the smaller box) and a grp n tsl panel filter ,want to bin the hks mushroom to put back to standard ish. Col
-
Here's the speel the guy wrote in the advert This is a special Green panel filter for all models of Subaru Impreza Turbo/WRX/STi manufactured specially for TSL to homologated Group N spec with a higher flowing blue weave rather than the standard green cotton pleat. It is the exact same filter material used by Peugeot in their WRC-winning 206's. It definitely improved flow over my old STi panel filter by a huge amount - a general increase in overboost by around 0.1 bar and it sounded much meatier even though it was obviously still enclosed in the airbox. This filter and a new induction pipe even maxed out my MAF sensor running at 1.5 bar. You can hold it up to the light and see how well it's going to flow. Blow through it and there's virtually no resistance although it still filters just as well as the standard Green filter. You are supposed to use the normal Green cleaning and re-oiling fluid with this. Green-manufactured filters are NOT linked with MAF contamination in any way. cheers,Colin

Back from being away for a few years, when I last had an Impreza the knocklink was the beez kneez(if you never had the cash for the all singing and dancing gadgetry plastered all over yer dash),are they still available or is there something else now on the market doing the same job? Col

I am waiting for a guy(dealer) to get back to me to see if and how much p/x for my Typhoon...initial email he sounded interested.Fookin fingers crossed cause i haven't had no luck selling it privately, dusni help when i aint got the patience for the long drawn wait on someone to bite lol. He has a couple of m plate RA's that look really clean low milers....will be severly doon in the dumps if this goes Chebs up. The RA would be a more or less every day car,no long motorway drives so the short gearing wont be a major issue, anything else to think about? here's hoping,Colin

Got my Typhoon advertised in Autotrader and Pistonheads and even tho ye stick on no agencies etc, the amount of twats pestering me by phone and email is incredible.Gonna end up telling a genuine caller to feck off the amount of times the phone goes with these ass holes. Tell ye with the amount of Imprezas for sale its gonna be murder trying to decide which to go and see mmmmm....'99.UK classic with history cos its safer (wee bit of magic from AndyF) or an early STI with no history, have had imports previously with no imploding motors but the amount of ads I'm seeing ye see with "just had engine rebuilt" is scary dont suppose its a concern if its API or similer company and backed up with legit p/work ?? Col

Aye the old Typhoon is a bit of a legend in the U.S.,they call them Stop Light Warriors! When they were first made they were the fastest SUV's on the planet, reckon there is less than a dozen in the UK. If I was the type to be going to Crail every weekend it would be an ideal toy ,but the Scooby pull has returned big time, that many roundabouts in Livi ye need something that goes round them with a bit of style. The corvette was pretty entertaining ,all that V8 grunt[].... but with 3 kids even as a 2nd car I was getting too much grief from her that must be obeyed, there was still the need for me to be shipping kids about so that had to go,like i said, wish i'd just bought an impreza at that point[:$] Let me know if there are any nice classic examples about for sale or if you ken anyone that might fancy the Typhoon as a wee toy[:$]

Hello peeps, used to be on here up to a couple of years ago, will be looking to get back to Impreza ownership in the next month or so.Last time i were here the regulers were Johnny 50 ,Dougster,Spooks etc they still I about?? Have been doing the American thing the last wee while,Corvette and the noo a GMC Typhoon which i aint had long but want rid poo off a stick in a straight line(4.3 V6 Turbo) but typical yank thro the corners, rare as hens teeth only about 3500 ever made over a 2 year run 92,93. Should never have bought it the Subaru Pull was returning as i was buying it...should always trust yer instincts eh. Have had 2 classic WRX's and an STI 1 in the past, looking for an early STI 2/3 .will have about 6k to spend seems to be a lot about Pistonheads etc, even more of a minefield than it used to be I guess Huh! cheers Colin from Livi.
