  1. i hope it is electrical otherwise it is slightly broken as the needle is stuck on vacuum , i have an electrical gauge on mine and it seems to work fine , i purposly bought a digital one so i could take it apart and fit the digital screen to the clocks under the speedo next to the knocklink so dont need a pod just another idea for ya!
  2. shame we didnt have the model code and all the guessing would stop , or the chassis number , whatever it is i think the 'bitsa' tag is very accurate and it is one of them that you would warn your kids about! STAY AWAY , STAY A LONG WAY AWAY !!
  3. according to its number plate its either a wrx or wrx ra 1992 model , but without the model code it is difficult to tell . what does seem strange to me is the seller doesnt seem to know anything about it at all like transmission etc and it looks like they have put a front mount on and a bigger bonnet vent , anyway there you go.
  4. i realise its an old thread but did you ever do it and was it worth it if you did!
  5. i was thinking about doing something similar myself , am currently working in the states so am gonna do a bit of research into buying 2.5 block etc but dont know how many more bits i am gonna need !
  6. bloody awfull , for me anyway , even my 5 year old think its 'rediculous' n i didnt know he knew what that word meant. i did wonder why the bonnet didnt fit well though , has something been shoehorned in?
  7. surely that cant be right , can it , i didnt think it would go back on the road if it was total loss , i though it was only uneconomical repairs that could , unless they really did think it was just a type r because that was what it was insured as?
  8. toyota corolla xb 3 door hatch , 1.6 as dnf 972 y , it was christened did not finish yet , just before i rolled it on a back road , cost me a broken motorbike which i had crashed 3 months before , straight swap , i thought it was a good deal . the only injury i suffered was the radio aerial in my eye when i tried to open the bonnet from the side whilst the front was buried in a hedge and wouldnt start. found out later the battery terminal had snapped off hence the not starting . had to phone the feds to come and move it as it closed the road between 2 sharp bends and someone might have hit it good car though had a kettle and a fridge in it and a cb
  9. i suppose at the end of the day (as much as i dont like to say it ) the onus is always on the operator of the vehicle to ensure it is in a roadworthy condition before operating it .
  10. nice to meet you dibs , who was the other lad that was there , he was on the phone so didnt speak to him , did anyone else turn up in the end?
  11. what normally happens at these meets
  12. or iva as it is now
  13. as i was told by the dvla ' the sva is only there to prove that it is what it is , the mot is there to prove it is road legal' that was while i was going thru the motions of registering a kit car .
  14. i have noticed there are alot of bikes about , reminds me of holland , i will be down at the red lion as i will need to go somewhere for my tea (or maybe dinner) anyway , assuming they do food
