  1. Theres a group buy running for braided brake hoses - what difference do these make over the standard hoses that I've presumeably got fitted to mine? Is it worth me considering a set?

  6. After the inevitable success of the forthcoming article in True Grip "Kent Scoobies visit to France" I've been asked by the editor if we'd like to submit anything else. Thought we could perhaps do a piece about this Sundays drive unless of course we've got any publicity shy people here lol .....................ps camera anyone?
  7. Could always head off before the main bunch?????????[6] Have a look at ESC thread on Scoobynet - they state in RED letters if you want to do this you have to be at the back of the convoy !! Hugh, I bet you were a real rebel at school lol

  9. Couple of book titles I just heard on the radio..............."Songs of the Thrush" by Mabitsa Ritchie and "Frustration" by Anita Getmeenderway. Don't think they'll have either of these in Waterstones.

  11. Deano uses Subaru parts and stamps your book ! If the cars new and under warranty I can understand about going to a dealers but if not why pay £100 an hour labour? 15. Happy birthday Tony [^] my birthday in a few days time [] How many candles are you blowing out this year Ian [] 21 as normal [] Thats only because you can't get any more than 21 of those great fat church candles on a cake without getting health and safety involved lol
  16. OK Granby, so if I fit a nice new set of pulleys on the front of my bog standard 2002 WRX with PPP bhp 256 approx, am I likely to notice any difference in fuel or power....... The pulleys won't give you anymore power, what they will give you is a more responsive engine as there is less weight for the engine to spin (may improve MPG) Like he says ......by the way its pointless me doing a tutorial on the subject of lightweight pulleys if you're not going to take any notice of it []
  17. Still got the football and frisbee from last year...................anyone got a roof in case it rains lol
  18. Believe there is an official 'potholes compliants' website - not sure if they take action on your behalf or just tell you how to go about d/w the councils etc
  19. No one on here today?
  20. T123vor and Baz69 at MacD's last night with a few of the Essex boys
  21. Errr....flywheel? [*-)] [:$] OK it goes on the back of the engine in between the engine & the clutch Now you're just trying to confuse everyone.......before we can get our heads around pulleys at the front you're going on about a wheel at the back of the engine !! I thought the wheels were in each corner [8-)] Tell you what, I'm seriously having second thoughts now about taking up car maintenance for a living lol
  22. [] ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^lol
  23. Just put a new sidelight bulb in, but guess most people here are ok with that so needn't bother with a tutorial. There'll be something along soon though lol
  24. I overhead Granby and Hol giving a lecture on this very subject last Friday at Notcutts. Now I'm not in any way technical but here's a rough run down lol. These pulleys are the ones that sit at the front of the engine around which that long black rubbery belty thingy goes......with me so far? You whip these off - not easy apparently if you look at Tonys comments - and replace with lightweight ones. Now, because they're lighter, they turn easier hence less resistance and as a consequence you're using less of the power generated by the engine to turn them - more power available to drive the car along, better pick-up etc. However, because they're lighter they provide less engine braking when you're slowing down. Here endeth todays lesson in automotive technology and now I await being shot down or corrected. It seemed to make sense last Friday lol
