I know we've been over this ground before but it really does look quite a drab car from back to front - even the seats don't have that 'bucketed' look. If they're looking to get away from the 'boy racer' image imho they've certainly succeeded - I could well see my parents sitting in this and not looking at all out of place. Have just called TGIs at Lakeside who'll take a group booking for Saturday 25th. Logistically it means that they have to put tables together and for this reason we either book for 7pm or 9pm.....in other words we'll only have the table for 2 hours which shouldn't be a problem. They'll need a deposit of £5ph and obviously the earlier we book the better chance we have of securing our preferred time slot. Imho if there's going to be littl'uns coming along we'd be better with the early slot leaving us time perhaps for a run uptown afterwards? This would then save having to try and slot a seperate date into the calendar and if the foods cr*p we could always go to the McD drive thru lol Is everyone happy with TGIs or do we want to consider anywhere else? Perhaps we should be looking to make a booking by, say, 11th which gives us a fortnight to sort numbers and deposits. Lets start a list lol Baser999 2 adults

Just ordered some car cleaning products from these guys, www.elitecarcare.co.uk, for my sons car. Arrived next day and their prices seem as competitive, if not cheaper on some lines, as elsewhere. Said I'd stick a mention on here - if theres enough interest perhaps we could look to negotiate a discount? One other thing.....the delivery turned up in the 10 minutes when my son popped up the shops and although the courier left a card explaining about rearranging delivery I was also sent an email from Elites advising me of non-delivery. Never come across this before and thought this could be useful especially if a card hadn't been left by the courier or the delivery had been made to the wrong address.

Needless to say being a main dealer their hourly rates are outrageous - ordered a sigma alarm keypad through them and they offered to fit it - one hour later I copped a bill for £117 - the keypad was only £20. This took account of the SIDC discount as well. More fool me for saying yes lol. Suppose if the cars under warranty this won't be such a problem. Haven't been there for years - is it still a Beefeater or Harvester? If it is, would they take a booking for such a large party on a Saturday?

Rather than have this thread go on forever could I propose we set a date so that everyone at least has time to organise babysitters, work etc etc Where we go can be dealt with as a seperate issue although if theres sufficient numbers we're going to need to book fairly soon. From a purely selfish point of view can I suggest SATURDAY 25 AUGUST as I'm otherwise not really going to be free until about October what with work, holidays and such. Apart from Lydden on Bank Holiday Monday the 27th, the club calendar is free that weekend.
