  1. Hi Leon, just seen your postings about 'cheap' go-go juice. Must admit that you've confused me (although that happens more and more as I get older!) but I live just off Plumstead Common and the only garage that I can think of in that area is the one along past the Co-op - is this the one you're talking about ? The only martial arts centre I know of is at the other end of the Slade. Perhaps the price of the juice has gone up so much since your posting I hadn't noticed that it was 'cheap' . An Esso garage on the Bromley Road in Shortlands near friends of mine was one of the cheaper ones around until last week when it hoicked its prices up - unleaded now up to 94.5p making it about the dearest!
  2. Deano , believe it was you I spoke to in the pub on the way back from the club run down to Herne Bay a couple of weeks ago - I was the new member in the blue x- reg classic. Would be interested to speak to you about your services if you could get in touch . Cheers matey.
  3. Hi to the blue classic, just pulling on to Welling Way couple of nights ago - I was waiting at those lights and don't know what your problem was but what was with the sneering and look of disdain? If you haven't the courtesy to acknowledge a fellow scooby driver then I suggest that in future you pretend you haven't seen him!
  4. Is there anyone out there that can attach a map to the thread please? Cheers guys
  5. Morning Dan and welcome to the club. Bought my first scooby at beginning of June and enjoying every minute of it. Previously driving a 2.9i Scorpio auto - large squashy seats and only 2 pedals to think about etc etc so you can imagine it was a bit of a learning curve driving the scooby in the early days!! Look forward to seeing you at the club meets - keep an eye on the website for dates etc. By the way, where are you?
  6. Disregard my last message - just seen the date on the events list
  7. So, what day is the BBQ? Sorry but I've read through every thread and can't see what day its scheduled for! Thanx
  8. Welcome . . . . I'm a scooby virgin myself having bought mine in June just before my mid-life crisis! Well I'd got shot of the wife some years ago and shes since remarried and 3 of my sons are now working so there's only the usual stuff such as mortgage , food , drinking to worry about. So what the hell, I thought I'd indulge myself and buy a proper motor Haven't been disappointed. Went to last Fridays run down to Herne Bay although apart from the 'local massive' in their corsas and novas the place seemed to be shut ; but hey it was 9.30pm!! Try to get along to a club meet sometime.
  9. Age didn't seem to be the problem - had more problems with it being an SE18 postcode - insurers seem to think we're all bloody car thieves up here! Will perhaps give Michaels a ring just to see what they have to say.
  10. Managed to get £650 through AA although I am 50 and with clear driving record - it took a bit of phoning round though as mines parked roadside in Plumstead Common area and a lot of companies wouldn't even think about insuring me unless it was garaged etc etc...usual stuff
  11. Meant to add that our Air Ambulance team race about in green Scoobies when the choppers not flying - they were our guys parked up in London after the bombings
  12. Logistical role in Central Ambulance Control for London Ambulance Service - seems pretty boring compared to some of you guys out there. Can't even offer anyone 'free' ambulance journeys to hospital in case of emergencies!!
  13. Will you lot stop it .....I'm 50 , yes 50! and you're making me feel even older!! My lads range from 23 -> 15 and so I only have to pick up some of the tabs for the youngest now that I'm divorced May see you on 19th if I can make it.
  14. Pele , should already be on it - am receiving club emails. Hope to get along to the meet on 19th.
  15. Date looks ok at this stage - what time do we start off from the Wharf? Nice to meet some other club members
  16. Hi .....living in Plumstead and driving X - reg metallic blue turbo, bought in June from Bulldogs Subaru in Twyford, just before I got to my midlife crisis! Sold to me as bog - standard and am ashamed to admit I have little knowledge of whats going on under the bonnet so would have no idea if its been uprated in any way!! Bloke who traded it in spent serious bucks on a brand new WRX STi which he promptly uprated even further, so I do wonder if mine is still as it was when it first rolled on the road - would be grateful to hear from anyone local that might be able to let me know. Have enrolled in Kent club and SIDC. Thanks....Baser999
  17. Interested in a polo shirt and sweatshirt - are they all hoodies? What are the winter jackets like? Any idea as to prices yet?
  18. does any one out there know whats going to happen to us Scooby drivers if Ken 'I'll get money out you ******** somehow' Livingstone decides to go ahead with his proposals to up the congestion charge for 4-wheel drives? Obviously this is really intended to clear London of Chelsea tractors dropping darling Johnny off at school but we all know what Kens like if theres money to be made! I don't think in the initial proposals there was any distinction made between ordinary 4 x 4s and the Chelsea variety - perhaps I've missed something?
