  1. I can't add much more than has already been said, but I can still say well done to Dean for his hard work in organising the KentScoobies relay and the sponsorship from Foxs. I must admit that I was very dissapointed with the speed of the relay, after all the posts that it was not to go over 70mph - everyone kept shooting off and at times we were doing well over the speed limit to catch up with everyone, which I think spoiled it for a lot of people who brought the family along and then ended up having to race everywhere to keep up. I must now say a very big thank you to Callum, the main man in all of this. Richard Burns was his hero and idol, yet he selflessly gave up his seat in the safari car to be auctioned off for charity - something I don't think a lot of people would have done. That moment choked me up no end, so I arranged for him to be driven back to the garages in it instead, and the most memorable moment of this day for me was seeing his face as he was driven past in his hero's car, pure joy. I have been to Prodrive for a visit before, but this day is the one that will stay with me for a very long time, a day full of emotion and remembrance. RIP Richard Burns
  2. I'll be sorting out the voting after the RBMR today []
  3. Right I've just spoken to Foxs and although they would rather have the yellow with blue (which when you think about it is Subaru colours, just reversed...) to keep harmony within the club they have said they will go with the majority of votes, so I'm going to lock this one and start another thread. I will be e-mailing everyone on my list, I also have a list of people without web access so I will also be texting those people, please also let anyone you know who comes to meets but doesn't have internet accces and get their votes too. I will start a poll with colour choices and you just choose the colour, no comments just the colour!
  4. Get off the fence you!
  5. The purpose of the questionnaire was to gather information about other things, the reason I did not ask about what colour would you like was beacause last time whatever a decision was made on someone didn't like it, which is why I didn't put it to vote. Even if the yellow and blue were chosen by a majority, there would still be those complaining that it wasn't fair and they want a different colour!!!! As Sheepie has pointed out, these will only be worn at events and will be a noticeable colour that can be associated with the club - if everyone wore white we would mingle in with the crowds as most clubs go for white....
  6. Look where it got last time when we tried to make a decision on the colour for the shirts [*-)]
  7. This is the final colour, if you don't like the colour then you don't have to buy it....
  8. Pele

    Kent Flag

Thanks for that Phil [] Although..... Did I tell you..... I'm changing the logo.... (runs and hides) [A]
  9. Well one of my friends is ginger & she wears pale yellow a lot and it suits her colouring....
  10. Well foxs suggested bright yellow, and I thought it might be a bit ott for some so I suggested primrose yellow which is a paler yellow - plus the blue writing to keep it Subaru!!!
  11. The colour chosen in discussion with Foxs Subaru is..... Primrose Yellow with blue writing The KentScoobies logo will be across the back and your name will be on the front left side and the Foxs logo will be on the right. All we need to do now is sort out a decent deal with a supplier and of we go....
  12. [H] and there is more on the way[] her sister is up the duff[][] That's why I'm keeping mine indoors for a couple of weeks so she don't get a chance to get pregnant again before I get her neutered (sp)
  13. Well at least i can do 120mph this time without flashing blue lights behind me [] Don't you find the blue flashing lights encourage you to go faster???[6]
  14. That makes the KentScoobies kitten cout 7 then, I've got 4 here at 2 weeks old now []
  15. Phil, the question has been raised several times about a website, mainly for pictures and info etc, with the main forum being here, so I thought it only fair that everybody had a say - as it is about 95% of the questionnaires came back with prefering how things were so I don't think there is any reason to change anything forum wise at present. I do have a suggestion though, perhaps there could be a pictures of your car & owner for each clubs forum so it's easier to put faces to names and cars? I'm just trying to make the club a happier place at the moment lol, hence the questions [], also gives me something else to think about while I wait for test results[]
  16. Monty, have you seen the state of the field they use? It would take a month of Sundays to flatten enough of it out for a drag strip, unless they are changing location..... plus the fact that they will have to take out extra insurances and get marshalls etc....
  17. I've made a note of all the colours you have suggested and when I go to Foxs with Dean I'll let them make the final choice - it's only fair if they are going to sponsor us that they have the final say.....
  18. Pink has alredy been done lol
  19. Right, so now we have to choose a colour.... It has to be something that will stand out tho, so suggestions please....
  20. As discussed I will come along to Foxs with you to discuss ideas, then we have to choose a colour, that's where it went wrong last year - it has to be a distinctive colour, but not a lairy colour.....
  21. As all those that attended the meet last Friday will know I had a Questionnaire for every one to fill out, with the idea being that I get some feedback as to what people wanted to do as a club etc. (for those that were not there, I will be e-mailing it tonight) There were some very good and valid points made, and it was good that we had some new members attend as I could then get an idea how they felt, I'm going to list a few of the more brought up points here, along with my response, then people can add their remarks also. 1. What would you like to see more of in the club? The most frequent answer here was more family events, with organised events like paintballing and karting coming a close second. I agree with both of these points, which is why I asked the questions about people putting money upfront and what about people who would like to attend events but can't afford to go to them all. It turned out that no one minded paying upfront as long as there was a cut off date, so this can now be taken as we can start doing events like paintballing, karting etc. There were a couple of good ideas for the question of people not being able to afford to go to events - not a lot of people take into consideration it's usually at least a tank of fuel plus entry & food for most big events - one of the suggestions was to offer to take someone in your car instead of taking 2, which is a good idea because it saves on fuel costs, and another idea is to make some smaller events, or days out closer, rather than going miles out. Both of these ideas are good, the closer days out would be picnics or seaside, as unfortunately with the exception of Modded UK events nearer to us are few and far between. The t-shirt question was just to see if you were all paying attention lol [] although I actually like the colour.... [:$] Most of you would be quite happy to help organise events, so watch out for e-mails asking for help!!! It was almost unanamous (sp) that we keep the forums here on SIDC and not have our own website, so here we will stay - I had to ask the question because I'd had a few people asking why we didn't have our own site. Most people would be happy to tag cars if they had cards, so watch the forums, I'm designing a new one now and should have them ready for the next meet - I might also get people to put names on them and have a little prize for the person that brings the most new members per month.... I raised the question of member ship fees, the idea being not to make any money but to be able to fund things for the club like a nice gazebo and banners. This was met with good response with people prepared to pay up to £30 per year!! I did an avereage over all the figues people came up with and it was £17, so it looks like about £15 would be acceptable. What would you like for this I asked, and got various answers, the most common being stickers and newsletters, I also had a suggestion of metal name badges, which I am going to look into as I think it would help people to identify each other at meets - I for one am alsways getting names and faces mixed up - sorry Dan [:$] Someone also suggested tea and cake......not quite sure how to stick that in an envelope tho lol. I'll add more later as I carry on writng up my notes..... feel free to add your own, but please don't turn this into a muppet thread or your comments will be moderated, sensible discussion only please..... Pele [A]
  22. I'm just waiting for an e-mail from Andy the organiser to confirm a couple of things - the most important one is the location of the stand - we were right at the back last time & we had the biggest turn out of cars!!!
  23. Well I did ask a certain two people to provide writeups on their track day, and organising an event, but never got anything back - the idea was to change it to KentScoobies Diary so that everyone could have a chance to have a write up.....
  24. I know Tony is no saint, but you should sort him out yourself! [] Ill be there: HOL Lol []
  25. It's that time again [] This months meet is at The Wharf from 7.30pm onwards - don't forget hats, coats, scarves extra jumpers lol and gloves [] although hopefully the weather won't be too bad.... I'll have a little something for people to fill in, so could everyone try and bring a pen along too [] Please add your name to the list.... Pele
