  1. Well had a chat with some of the original KentScoobies members and decided it was time for an old school style meet. Doesn't matter what you drive now, if you were a member or a member of another club we used to meet up with, you are more than welcome to pop along :)

This is the Facebook link for it, if you don't have Facebook, it's being held at The Wharf (original members will not need a map lol) at 7.30 onwards on a Friday 26th September.

Would love to see you all again :)

  3. i have just fitted coilovers to my bugeye, and have lowered it to the point of not being able to get my trolley jack under the car. I have a loud knocking noise coming from the osr but i cant find anything loose or damaged. Could it be that with the car being this low, its putting to much strain on the diff as the driveshafts are at quite a large angle to the hubs? is there anything i can do to sort this out?

Have you tried getting the standard jack under it? If it fits, you can then lift it to accommodate the trolley jack :D

  4. I came on here tonight with the intention of offering my condolences on your loss Ian which I saw on Facebook - however, I find this:

The BT advert saying........100's of people return to BT each week.

To everyone who has turned their backs on SIDC should remember that one day, you will be back to this great forum.

I have had many many rib tickling laughs on here and met some truly great people.

The thing that makes me sad is the way the nobs went about stealing good people away from a forum that has worked so hard in creating what only can be described, as a great comunity.

    Shame on you.. ;)

I left BT and I certainly won't be returning in a hurry!!! I like a phone company who have their call centre's in the UK with people who you can understand and who speak English

I take it I must be one of those who have turned my back on SIDC, and a 'nob' - been called many things, but thats a first :D - and I have stolen all of SIDC's members away, surely if this was true I think I'd have had a call from Phil by now??

When KentScoobies was first born as a proper club I ran it more or less single handedly, and everyone was quite happy to let me sort everything out and just turn up, but then when I had to take a back seat and let others arrange things, they would start but never finish, and thats when people got disheartened with the club and started saying it shouldn't be ran by one person. I agreed with this but when I asked no one seemed willing to put their name forward.

Things then went from bad to worse when a small group of members decided to boycott every meet or event we were supposed to attend and not turn up, and the arguments which were made public made us the laughing stock of every Subaru forum in the UK, not to mention every other Marque!

I don't recall you helping me when I was getting this trouble from some of the members, in fact you were one of the first to 'turn your back' on me! So you have hardly been helping matters yourself have you? All you seem to do is pop up from time to time to start a thread off then sit back and watch the fireworks - is this how you get your kicks Ian?

It has always been a case of I'd be damned which ever course was chosen, and for the last few years I've been asked can we have our own website like the other clubs do, then when Dean offered his website for us to use so as far as I'm concerned you don't look a gift horse in the mouth, and I took it and the club then had it's own website with a core group to act as admin/moderators,etc and 'I' has now become 'We'

We have not forced anyone to leave this site, and if asked I point our members in the direction of SIDC if they want to look at other sites, as I also point them to Scoobynet, scoobycity etc. Can you say you have had anything from me or any of the other admin of KentScoobies.com to say leave SIDC and come to our website?

People seem quick enough to find someone to blame and point fingers, but when they are asked for help they disappear, funny that!

  5. Happy New Year one and all !!!

It's that time again, and the first meet of this year will be on Friday 15th January at Nottcuts from 7.30ish onwards. Please make sure you wrap up warm, and if your bringing little ones wrap them up too

Also please keep looking at the thread in case the weather gets bad and we have to cancel the meet again, which I hope won't happen but with this weather you never know - I'd rather you all be safe than sorry :)

Look forward to seeing you all

    Coming from Canterbury:

Follow the A28 to Kennington, past the Conningbrook Hotel (on the left). Continue on the A28 to the Holiday Inn. Turn right into Cemetery Lane then left into Bybrook Barn Garden Centre car park.

Suggest we meet at Nott Cutts at 12.30 - 12.45, leave Nott Cutts around 13.00, arriving at The Riverview Diner around 13.30.

Full thread is on the website

  8. This months meet will be at Nottcutts from 7.30 onwards

Don't forget to wrap up nice and warm, it's getting rather chilly now....

Unfortunately I cannot make the meet myself due to prior engagement  (trust me the meet in the cold is MUCH more appealing  but it's something I can't get out of, however I may be able to escape a bit earlier and come to the meet lol  )

Hopefully you will still have a great meet without me around, and I look forward to seeing you at the next one

  9. i have removed the box under the seat and bridged all the wires as told to do so by sva, gutted though car has sat now for two months coz of this hate just looking at it lol

When you switch on the ignition can you hear the pump prime?

  10. No i havent got an induction kit, car is completly standard . what wire do i need to earth . i have a power probe so i can earth it out with that to see if it works

cheers for the help i have no idea about car electrics

I just used a length of wire from an old flex cable to test it lol, just literally ran it from the battery to the pump to make sure that was the problem then added a new piece under the seat which was where it had burnt out the connector box.

  11. hi guys im new on here and have a 1996 wrx import, really need help with the car. i think the fuel pump has gone on it as it will turn over but wont start, put power to it using a power probe and nothing. Also removed the block under the back seat as i was told to do so by sva.

does anyone have a working fuel pump, doesnt have to be uprated any help would be great cheers

    darrell

Try running a new earth in from the fuel pump to the battery, that was the problem I had with mine, if it still won't work, I have a spare here somewhere ;)
