Is it a RA? I thought RA's came without a rear wiper, that car looks like it has one. Also the radio aerial is at the rear. I thought the aerial was on the A pillar on RA's.

That's probably for the supply/mapping of the apexi ecu. He also calls it a series McRae, when it isn't. Does he even know what the car is?

I made the mistake of trying to detail my Golf. Bought a meguiars g220, menzerna polishes, and some swissvax . Spent days doing it, but when the sun hits it you can still see swirls. Reckon I'll sell the stuff and get a pro to do it. The wax smells nice though

You should modify the lights to fit your fog light in them. Looks a lot better than having that light hanging off bottom of bumper.

I had one for nearly 4 years and never had a problem. Mine only had a decat and blitz nur spec-r, AndyF remap too. I also changed the MAF yearly as they are apparently week on that MY of Impreza. I think £12k is too expensive though. Even if it is low mileage. Have you considered a version 5, or 6 STI Type R, if your after the 2 door thing?

Was thinking of selling my MKV GTI, and coming back to the land of scoobs. Always fancied a RA. So, whats the best one to go for? By best I probably mean, easiest to mod/tune, strongest engine, etc. Should I try and find one here, or am I better getting one imported? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I didn't think you had to homologate WRC cars. You don't get a 2.0 turbo Focus road car for example. I thought it was only group N that got homologation. I think that's one of the reasons the Japs still use the 2.0 engine, instead of the 2.5 we have.

My P1 used to whistle. It was the wind blowing through a small gap in the door mirror housing. Only noticed it when it was sunny. i.e window down. Doesn't sound like this is the whistle your getting though as you say it only happens at certain revs.
