  5. In a import scooby you have to run shell v power with some octaneboost as jap fuel is 100ron. The car will det on 95ron fuel and let go
  6. Looks like a synchromesh problem m8 to fix it will need taking out Just get that box rebuilt as a good 6speed will set you back about 2k m8
  7. You mite be hitting boost cut of fuel cut m8 I would get the car booked in for a rolling road and get it tested to make sure its not under fueling
  8. I would find out if the wrx ecu has had the new board and been mapped. If not get it mapped as it will blow up if not boost seems to creep sometimes i would check the actuator m8
  9. What Has happened is the pulley on the end of the crank that the cam belt drivers has rotated on the crank as the key way is not there. This has made the timing move so the car will not start if you where to time it back up put a key way in it will start. The crank is now turning out of sink to the cams

  11. Good man go for it he new it was non-interference. Just trying to pull the wall over your eyes m8. And it will not start because the key way is not in so the timing will now be out. line that up put a key way in and she will fire up but he will no this two.

  14. no m8 as you would need to take the heads off to see a bent valve but you can do a compression test that will tell you.. As for the non starting it mite be that the crank sensor is now not working as it mite have been hit. But more than likely the timing is out now as the pulley has moved and it is trying to fire at the wrong time.
  15. looking at the end of that in the pic it would not have had a key way in it as it would not fit. The end has been built up with weld so the nut could nip up and hold it. He cant say its what you have done as its a doggy repair. What i would di is get an independent to go to his place of work and do a report on the car. That will make him pay up as he No's he is in the wrong
  16. If you go for per 96 them no but if you go for a face lift then yes. If you want face lift parts then my mate is braking a wagon that he got this week.

Because they are non-interference engines, if the timing belt fails, the engine of the models up to 1996 will not be destroyed.   18. That can't happen m8 as it is non-interference valve safe as said before so the cam belt could have snapped and it still would not have bent a valve. There is no way on this earth you could have bent a valve give me his number i will call him lol Best not as i will only make it harder for you. The car was not fit for purpose there for he needs to give you your cash back. Or he needs to fix the car end of. Its has valve safe heads so you can't bend a valve

  20. I don't no if the wrx runs solid buckets m8 or the hydraulic i no the sti runs solid but i don't no about the wrx ???
  21. If it was big ends it would do it at 2500 rpm to 3000 rpm and sound like a truck. On the uk turbos you have hydraulic lifters and they get soft what you can do is put some stuff in the oil cant remember what its called. But it will clean the lifters out. But in most cases they will need new ones but its cam shafts out job.
