  1. Right guys,

    Thought this may interest somebody.......

I drove across Europe last May for a holiday with the missus, and whilst over there I paid a visit to some like minded Scooby enthusiasts in Luxembourg.

Each year they hold a 'Road Tour' of Luxembourg, and I have to say 2009's was a blast!

O.K, I know some of you will be laughing as Luxembourg is a very small country, but believe me when I say that driving there is brilliant! Loads of twisty and very twisty roads, some wide and others about the width of your car.

'We have those roads here too!' do I here you say??

Some yes we do, but the trump card is that the Nurburgring is approximately 100 miles away, so a trip there is not out of the question either!

Plus we had around 70 cars last year from all over Europe and the scenery was beautiful.

All the guys and girls there made me feel very welcome in 2009, and so far I have been the only person from 'The Island' (as they call Britain) since they have been running the tour to join them.

In 2010 I am planning to take a holiday again in Europe and will be visiting the road tour for the weekend of 29th & 30th May.

We will be camping again (same as last year) simply because it's cheaper, the facilities for campers in Europe are excellent, and security is not a problem. It may depend on the weather, but in 2009 for the whole 10 days we were in Europe it never went below 25 degrees!

If anyone is interested please take a look at their website http://www.impreza-club.lu/ for further details.

Or, just contact me and I can answer any questions you may have.

Here are some pics from last year.......

  2. Cool pix

Not sure what happened in the afternoon. Bit of a f**K up by all accounts. Hope no one got too lost and that you all enjoyed the day :P

    Thanks

    Mark

I sure enjoyed it! Sorry I couldn't stay all day though......

Those tiny 'B' roads were great :P Got to meet some nice, friendly people too.

Thanks for your hard efforts Mark, it was well worth it! Besides, getting lost as part of a convoy is quite normal if people get split up. The fun part is trying to catch up :D

  3. Shame you couldn't make it we had a really good night, hope you get the problem sorted out soon and it's not too expensive!

Cheers guys! Glad you had a good evening, the weather was superb too. Gutted I wasn't there!

Felt bad knowing you were waiting for me at Brampton too, sorry guys :P .

I was on the road to Cambridge and the car just started mis-firing and hesitating badly, then I heard a loud

ticking sound. I thought it was my worst fear, and that the big ends had gone B)

Pulled the car over and shut down straight away. Called a mate and he came and picked me up with a trailer.

Had a look at the car this morning and after 2 hours of searching I found the problem.

I'd just had the car serviced and it had new NGK plugs fitted. When I pulled the lead off number 3 I noticed some

white ceramic coating inside the lead, then I took the plug out and it was damaged to the point that the ceramic coating was just crumbling apart! ;)

Popped down the local Halfords with the missus and picked up a new plug, and hey presto problem solved :D

Checked all the other plugs and there was no problem.

I just put it down to either manufacturing fault or the mechanic being a little to heavy handed :(

Car is running fine now, although my MOT is this week :P

Will wrap it up in cotton wool now until the next meet, then I will DEFINATELY be there :D

    Laters all.

  4. Really very sorry I didn't make it guys!

Left the house at 16:15 to meet you guys at Brampton, but when

I was half way to Cambridge I had a problem with the car :D

Not sure what the problem is yet but managed to get back home.

Hope you guys have a good night!

  5. Right guys, lets set this in stone!

Who's up for the usual Tuesday meet??

I make it Tuesday 25th august (next week) @ The Red Lion, Grantchester!

    Meet up at 19:30.

    Map

I know I haven't been to a few meets recently, but come on guys lets not let the meets

stop just because we have no R.O!!

I'm sure we can come up with some events between ourselves!?

Would be nice to see the old faces again, and the newbies :D

  6. The Cambs meet is held on the last Tuesday of every month, but as the Dunstable one is on a Saturday I think it's a good excuse for another drive :)

    Kim,

I'm working on the 22nd but i'll be done around 15:00, so i'll be up for meeting you at Brampton services!

Sounds like we could have a nice little convoy

  7. any ideas?

what about the plough in fenditon where it use to be at?

    Hello mate!

Was it you I passed the other week between Newmarket and Fordham?

Thought it must have been, as yours is the only grey classic I know of without the rear wing..

I don't care where the next meet is really, would just be good to get to one!

Aint been to the meet for at least 6 months!!

Need to catch up and meet the new faces :driving:

  8. Sorry to hear your stepping down Kevin. But I suppose nothing lasts forever......

Thank you so much for all your effort and organisation over the past few years,

I know all the events have been enjoyed by all. :D

Will miss your mad sat nav for sure ;)

Have had many a great road trip with that!!

Would be nice to see you still pop along to the occasional meet though?

Still need to have a ride in your Caterham too

    Best wishes for the future!

    Dan.
