  1. Gutted, Im in the process of buying a house with the Missus and we're a few k short....means i have to sell my WRX! ...i've only had it 3 Months! If any-one knows of some-one looking for a 93 JDM WRX please pass on the details as on the for sale section.. I can't bear to look at it sat outside!
  2. Steve £20.00 of Optimax guessing that you pay about 82p per litre gives you 24 Litres or 5.3 Gallons, average your 80-90miles at 85 and you get 16MPG !
  3. My standard apart from rear box MY94 WRX Sti gives approx 30MPG driving to work normally without driving "on boost", take it out on the weekend for a "quick blat" and i can take 10mpg off that.
  4. Hello Fireblade, Just coz no one mentioned them i thought i'd add to this.. Direct Line (Buy online gets you a 5% discount) 6 Yrs NCB 26 No Points or convictions GU Postcode £830.00 Fully Comp (With tracker fitted)
  5. Hello mate, I've had this a couple of times with lowering springs, last time was with my Fiesta Turbo, the front dropped lovely, but the back did'nt move and it looked like a friggin "hotrod". I drove it to the place i bought the springs from, they agreed it did'nt look right, swapped for another set of rears, changed them and they were still the same!....in the end i got the angle grinder out and cut off 2 loops from the springs. (I'm not sugesting you do the same!) Make sure that they definately gave you the correct ones for your car, they might of given you a set for a Impreza GL which is obviously higher than a Turbo.. D
  6. Any-one here own the silver Classic WRX i always see parked up in Northcamp/Farnborough? It looks the same as "steveeee"'s scoob. Dave
  7. Cheers Derek i'll have a browse through.. Dave
  8. Hello mate, With your clutch slipping you probably won't make full boost, because without much load on the engine due to the clutch slipping you won't be creating the same amount of exhaust gasses therefore the turbo will not spool up properly, its a bit like revving the engine when not in gear you'll notice you get a tiny bit of boost but it then tails off. D
  9. Hello All, Is there a way apart from taking it to a Subaru dealer of getting my 94 JDM WRX Sti ECU reset? I've heard that you can disconnet the battery for a long preiod of time but don't want to do this due to my Alarm and Tracker etc, also i would not be able to drive it during this period! Is is right that it would take an infinite amount of sampling cycles by the ECU to overwrite any previous levels learnt? D
  10. Leon, Are you sure your not getting your Gearbox stick mixed up with your Engine dip stick?.....my gearbox dipstick smells of eggs but not my engine! Haha just getting pictures of all these scooby owners outside sniffing their oil dipsticks! ..Had to put the "oil" bit in or it sounded well dodgy!
  11. I have a kyosho Pure ten Shaft driven 4wd 2 Speed box 8 Spoke Scale Aluminium rims (Made from solid billet Alumium...if any-one wants a set i can post the web address) Yokohama Scale tyres Oil filled shocks Classic shape bodyshell (unpainted as i'm trying to make some WRX graphics for it!) The engine is in bits at the moment as i'm replacing the pull starter with a mini electric starter motor.
  12. oh ok.. Well i'm going to have a browse on the net, see if i can see (Steal any ideas!) D
  13. << Defis are the best Just mount them in a strip on your dash. A pillar pods are distracting IMO >> Hello Customscooby! What do you mean mount them in a strip on the dash?...i did'nt know there was any kind of dash mount pod for my Phase 1? D
  14. Thats exactly it Dave,...i want it to look OEM, don't want it to look like a "DIY job" and i don't want it to look too out of place. I think the guages i want are worthwhile, ...when i'm going down the motorway i wanna know what the Turbo is doing (how hard its working) and how hot its getting e.g from the oil temp and lastly, i'd want to know "BEFORE" the oil pressure drops to 1Bar and the OEM light comes on!..thats if the sender is working!!! D
  15. Thanks Dave, Still not sure on the A pillar mounts though! , Have just seen that SECS data monitor link, that looks good!..its very neat which is what i'm looking for, i don't want anything to look "out of place".. D
  16. £500 !! Wow i thought the Blitz guages were expensive!....i spose you get what you pay for though! Might sound cheap but i was only looking to spend about £150.00 for all 3!
  17. Hello Dave, Nope, i have the original Phase 1 dash in mine (94 JDM), i've seen the A pillar mounts before, seems like a good idea but i just have'nt found a pic of someone with them to see what it would look like... Cheers for the link....i like the look of those Defi guages...bit pricey though!, i take it you have to buy the sender unit seperately? D
  18. SWT (South West Tyres) not sure of their web address (they advertise in Fast Car....i only bought it coz it has 2 scoobs in the back ) I've seen them advertise some nice sets of 17's with tyres for £550 !!!! D
  19. Boxer22: Hello, Well i ordered a black faced "Splitfire" boost guage but was told today by "C.A.R" that it might take 2 weeks to come in, chap was supposed to call me back with alternatives but has not done so yet! I know they are a lot more money, but i've also been looking at the Blitz range, i basically want the boost gauge first, then plan to put in the oil Temp gauge and the much needed oil Pressure gauge!... Just surfing the web for ideas on where to mount them..i like the pod that sits on the dash (replaces the storage box)on the later classic's, looks nice and tidy..dunno if i can get anything like that for mine, thought about mounting them in the DIN blank panel under the stereo, but would prefer them more in the line of sight.. Dave
  20. Boxer22.. I've got the standard 15's on it.... Biscuit: I also want to stiffen my classic up, i think the easiest and cheapest way to do it is to drop it with some Eibach lowering springs, will deffo stop some of that body role!...and give the car a more agressive stance!
  21. Whilst we're on the subject of steering.....i'd just like to say that my Impreza has the worst turning circle of any car i've driven!...sometimes i wonder if the front wheels have actually turned! Anyone else found this?...or am i just used to driving small hatchbacks?
  22. Hi all!, Ever since i have had my Scoob the turbo timer has not worked, there seems to be no power to it, so i opened it up whilst still connected to the car and used a voltage meter on the terminals where the wires reach the PCB, they are all dead wether ignition is on or off, i presume the fat red one should become live when Ignition is on?...any-one know where this Red one goes?, I tried tracing the wires but they disapear behing the dash at an almost 180o so i can't see where they go to check for loose connections etc, can't see any fuses blown either....any ideas? Cheers Dave
  23. Can any-one give me any tips on how to fit a boost guage i have just ordered into my Classic WRX?, interior pod part should'nt be a problem but i'm not so sure where to plumb the hose into in the bay, the last one i did was for my Fiesta RS, i just put a T peice into the actuator hose is it the same? (Breaking summit on the Fiesta is not as bad as breaking summit on the WRX! ) Cheers Dave
