  1. Just fitted my walbro pump tonight in record time.... 28mins Anyway, car is a 2000 "X" reg uk turbo, has yellow injectors as standard, now what can i raise the boost to now that i have the larger pump fitted???? Any ideas??? Surely it'll go higher as fuel cut must be higher also Martin
  2. ok i now have 3 different sizes to try, which hose should i put it in? Is it in the hosr between the turbo and "T" piece towards the auctuator or ]the hose from the "T" piece to the map sensor?
  3. Ok my 2000"X" impreza is still running poor under 3000rpm but ok above. Have just noticed that there is no restrictor valve in the vacume pipes at the turbo/actuator!! Do i need to have this and would this be the cause to all my surging probs under 3000rpm Martin
  4. ok after fitting standard air box back on and taking for a decent drive i have convinced myself that it is still doing the same, drawing up then easing away again, feels like boost BUT I had car running at my house and unplugged the maf while running, the car did not stop when unplugged, it almost cut out but then just kept running. I expected it to stall............ which would tell me maf was ok The fact that it kept going makes me feel that the maf is goosed??????????? Does this sound right to everybody? Getting frustraiting now?? ((
  5. ok not been out yet but will set to 1.1 or there abouts. Hmmm don't drive hard very often so is a knocklink essential? Never had one in any of my other scoobs
  6. mine is a uk turbo 2000 "X" and standard, 78000miles has a cat back exhaust right enough going to tickle the boost up to just around 1.2 and see what happens, slightly colder today so a good time to set it
  7. Got it done, now running 1bar or just under, what is a safe boost to run?
  8. Just about to fit an aftermarket boost control valve(manual) It's the one with the adjuster on the top and 2 connectors on it Now do i leave the standard one on the wing still connected and fit the new one next to the actuator? Has anybody got a good pic or a fitting photo/instructions for it? Needing more power!!
  9. Car does run fine i'm just being fussy. Maf is good as no fault codes at all. Did hear that they don't like filters so am looking for a standard airbox as i reply. Yeh trying to find a MAF just to try to see if it changes anything. Might just have to go to AWD in Perth at the weekend for a check. Cheers for the reply though
  10. Right this is a follow on from my previous post.... Car has a clean ECU (no fault codes) but when driving under a slight throttle load the car feels as if the brakes are being applied on and off. The boost gauge rises and falls as this happens, I have checked for leaks and replaced all the vac hoses but still the same. Has an HKS mushroom filter but don't think this will affect the running. Also it boost upto .5 bar and no more, i did think it should of been higher than that. UK TURBO 2000 "X" reg HELP
  11. just read my ecu and found fault code 23 stored AIR FLOW have now reset and disconected the battery. the prob i had was it felt as if the car was having the brakes applied on and off as you drive. So will find out later on a drive if this has cured the fault, if not where can i find a good air flow meter for my car? Martin
  12. Does anyone know or have a Series McRae brochure lying around? I'd like one for my car too Martin

  19. Hi mate, I've gone for a Graham Goode Racing sport cat and 3" exhaust. This is fitted to my 96 sti ra Not loud compaired to my previous H&S decat system. I would also say that i have no difference in power (loss/gain) Have always been a decat man, inc the up pipe, but if i were you i'd go sport cat and then headers. yes it's prob the expensive way to do it but less hassle for mot's and you get BIG BRAGGING points from fellow scoobys for the headers!! But each to their own Martin
  20. Hi mate i'm the lad that had the escort cossi before my scoobs, mine was around 320bhp, was lightning of the mark and in straight line, but it couldnt shake off the handling of a uk scoob with great mods on it, So my answer to you is that you have slim chance if it's standard, but if he's modded cossi you have not got a hope in hell over 1/4mile straight, But get yourself a good launch of the line at yellow and you might just drag him over the line as they are 64% rear wheel drive!! 7000rpm and side step the clutch, sounds harsh but it's the best way to launch a scoob of the line hope this helps Martin
  21. Shanks? Is that you? If so i would never of guessed your name mate sorry. It's faster than the last 1 that's for sure, newer, nicer but somehow not the same!! Sure once the handling is sorted i'll be way more happy with it. What you running now? That's the reason i sold the cossie, had that scooby of yours climbing all over the boot lid, and the cossie had 320bhp. Saw the light and never looked back since!! Yehaaaa Martin
  22. Can you please leave pice of white classics with rally graphics, as seriously thinking about them, prob go for gold myself. Where can they be purchased from? Martin
