  1. for those that might need reminding, the clocks go forward at 01:00 on Sunday 27 March

I've noticed that the weather has been milder lately, but might be too early to put the thermals away,

it was snowing last week for petes sake!

Bring on the brighter days and nicer weather :driving:

  2. Thanks for the support guys :icon_salut:

Grant will be taking the unit to all SRC rounds this year.

Lewis, not sure where we'll be for the Granite, either scrutineering or service area probablt.

Stuart, hope you get to see some rally action today.

  3. Race Retro event was down near Coventry.

Jimmy was driving in the rally stage and Bill Gwynne Motorsport brought along the 92 Legacy that they restored and look after

We also had the Pirelli simulator on our stand

and brought along the Sierra Cosworth

    and the retail unit

The evening dinner was a fundraising event for the Vision, hosted by Kevin Furbar

I think Grant and I were just in awe of some of the names and faces that were there and were happy to just be in the background and absorb everything.

one of the games in between courses was to see who could make the best paper aeroplane.

Each table had to nominate an "engineer" to build it and a "pilot" to go up to the front and fly it

can anyone guess who was the engineer at our table?

  5. A lot of people, myself included, will see this thread as more of an update thread, on what you are doing, where you are going etc. By its very nature it might not generate a huge amount of replies but it will keep Colin McRae Vision in everyones minds.

ok then, seems that folk are lurking and at least reading the updates :lurk:

I'll udpate my first post with the events we're attending and details of cars that will be there.

John, the Subaru weekender is happening.

We'll be taking the unit and probably one of the cars to it.

I know that Prodrive are supporting the event and we're trying to convince them to bring N1 WRC to the show.

We'll be going there for the Sunday show, will give the Saturday tour around Wales a miss.

    We've already done 3 shows in 2011:

Monte Carlo - George Sq Glasgow is the closest location that we've traded at so far

Snowman - heavy weight jackets and beanies sold very well.

Thanks to GMac and Scooby222's crowd for helping Grant out at that event

Race Retro & drivers ball - didn't really sell that much as we were located next to the jumble sale

The drivers ball was great, I'll put up some stories and pictures later.

  6. I'm going to stop posting in here about what we get up to with the Vision events.

It just feels like I'm just talking to an empty room or going on about it to folk that are not interested.

I'll keep my updates to my Facebook page

    cheers,

    Imy

  7. awful news

Our sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of both Graham and Connor.

thanks to "friend of spot2" for taking the time to sign up and sharing your friendship with us,

he sounds like a true enthusiast and will be missed by those that knew him

    Imy and Grant

  8. the first event that the McRae Vision are attending in 2011 is the Glasgow start point of the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique rally on Thursday 27 Jan.

Around 50 teams will start from Blytheswood Sq and, after going through control in Paisley, will travel through Kilmarnock, Dumfries, Scotch Corner then down to Dover, bound for France.

The Vision retail unit will be at George Square.

Come along and experience the festivities :)

  9. thanks to those of you that have replied.

Things have been rocky in 2010, with some great highs and crappy lows.

Priorities have changed and it was hard to decide to sell the Banana, but we don't really use both cars and with maintenance/fuel costs going up, it was the sensible thing to do.

We're going to carry on helping with the Vision events and will be lurking about the forum and online.

Interested to see if the new committee bring some life back into the club and we've still got the RA to go to some events :driving:

  12. just back from the 1st scottish scoobies xmas ball and had a blast!

Hadnt laughed that much in ages and it's also a while since I woke up feeling slightly rough :hl:

thanks to Dave 222 for organising this and getting it together, the venue, dinner, dance and atmosphere was spot on :icon_salut:

thanks too to Bobby and Gary for sorting out the music. The equipment, set and tunes were great and really helped pull off a great night.

nice to socialise with everyone again and great to see folks in kilts and frocks :icon_flower:

the secret santa gifts were a brilliant touch, though I ended up with a bottle of Buckfast!

the windy up toys and Stig stuff kept folk amused, esp at our table where we had racing grannies and horses.

lets see the photos and vids, there were plenty of pictures being taken.

oh and Dave, well done in the karaoke but its probably best you don't apply to the X-Factor ;)
