Well congratulations Dean, you are now the new leader of KentScoobies so do with it as you please. Just remember a few simple things and you should be fine;
No matter what you do it will always be wrong or never good enough for anyone, so don't expect to ever get any thanks in the event that you do get anything right.
You need to make sure you go to every meet and event or everyone gets upset and questions your leadership. KentScoobies leader needs to be able to afford to go to everything.
When you go to an event make sure you have everyones mobile number so you can make sure that they can all get home OK or arrange to convoy back with them.
Make sure your number and e-mail is available to everyone 24-7 and be able to answer queries no matter how mundane or what time of day or night it is.
Be prepared to plan your holidays around meets and events.
I'm sure that you will get on fine as leader, so good luck to you - you are going to need it.

Pele, you don't show up on here very often now but when you do you certainly leave your mark.
Whats this all about? Is Ian (Granby) no longer our regional organiser?
I'm damn sure that at times, despite all your comments, you really just set out to antagonise people and there can surely be no better example of this than this latest post. Ok I've risen to the bait so here goes.
Of course whoever heads up the club is never going to get total agreement from everybody. By the same token, those that do attend would never expect that person to turn out all the time - we all have commitments outside of the club - family, work, financial and such like. However, I personally don't think it unreasonable for the leadership of any club or organisation to be questioned when it is headed up by individuals who show no active part in any of its activities, for whatever reason. Since his appointment Ian has organised events and turned out to many of those that Kent Scoobies have attended. If he doesn't already have the information, he asks for contact details for anyone that is attending an event and generally makes himself available if anyone has a query. I can't see what you're getting at as regards emails - I recollect having supplied these details on club forms before now and am sure that if I should need to email you I could do so via the pm facility as can anyone else here?
Most of the issues surrounding the running of the club were raised at a meeting a couple of years ago and which perhaps with hindsight were never fully addressed? Shortly prior to that meeting some of the older members here decided to leave the club because of leadership issues at the time. Is it any wonder when you now post up these sort of comments?

Whats all this for Pele
All Dean has done is purchase the www.kentscoobies.com domain name and asking us for suggestions, when you had it, it was always directed to a holding page and nothing else
Don't think any members expect the leader R/O to be at every event or show but they would like to see them every now & then
As far as i'm aware i'm still the SIDC R/O but i will never go to every event or show (been there done that) but i will always try to help members where i can and if i can't i'll try and find someone that can help them

Hi Pele
It is a sad day when you have to post comments like you have. Kent Scoobies is a group of people getting together because of a shared interest. Some of the members are able to fund very nice projects and others run there car on a very tight budget but no matter which group you aspire to the members have a common bond.
If Dean is to run .com as a business and return a profit, then if things go wrong he will be asked to account.
Did you not try and make a small profit yourself?
The way to peoples hearts? I can't say, but making comments in the manner you have is far from uplifting.
I for one wish Dean all the best with his new project and would like to see him make a great success of it.
I would also hope to keep seeing you at meets but I fear you have made your own bed.
I will take this opportunity to say thank you for all the hard work that you have , in the past, put into Kent Scoobies.
Kind regards Hugh.
Remember this thread was started by deani_age asking for suggestions for the domain name www.kentscoobies.com, please keep any replies civil
