About RobFarro

  1. Haha I thought that as well! My friend shown me some footage of there first league night, and the racing was top notch. I guess its easy to knock somebody off the track online because their not sat next to you and wont tear your face off! Different story when your in the same room.
  2. Not sure if this is the right place to post this kind of thing, so feel free to move it if I'm a doughnut. A friend of mine works at a simulation venue in slough and I went to visit him the other week out of curiosity (being a petrol head and all that) as it has been a while since we last socialized. Anyway, I spent around an hour and a half in the place and loved it! So I would highly recommend anybody who loves there racing to get down there and have a look. Basically its a very nice room with 16 simulators, all of which are linked so you are racing at the same time on the same track. I drove a LMP2 prototype when I visited, but my friend told me they were doing a Subaru Impreza WRC RallyCross night as part of their monthly league. Unfortunately I couldn't go as I was working but it sounded nuts! I was very impressed with the feeling of the simulators itself, and the mistake I made was expecting it to be like GT5 or Forza, but to my genuine surprise I found it miles better. Turns out they use PC based software. Still trying to put my finger on why i found it more realistic... Anyway I wondered if there was anybody in the slough area that was up for abit of racing, as Im dying to have a blast in a scooby with a bit of competition! Maybe if there is enough of us we can make it into a bit of a social as they have a bar and can arrange pizza. I can put a link up to their website if im allowed? I didnt want to break any rules or anything?
  3. Looks great , I know the joys of sound deadening removal all to well. Budist monks should use it as patients training! Fingers crossed the weather behaves itself for you
  4. Well, when i was an influential teen, it had to be a Classic. In fact i had a poster of the 22B on my wall. But over time i cant help but want a hawkeye in the good old fashioned blue! I think it ages rather well... Here is the dilemma however... If i owned a classic shape, it would have to be kept as oringinal as possible and be a mint example of its generation. But, if i had a hawkeye, chances are it would see more surgery than Micheal Jackson.
  5. Cheers Chaps. Indeed, Mcrae and Burns deffo had a very important role in my love for them! My lecturer at college worked for ProDrive and then from that did a 2 year tour with the WRC team in the late 90s. I partially blame him as well! He had some cracking stories.
  6. Hello everyone! Firstly, at this point in time I don't own a Subaru , but ever since i can remember it has been my mission to find the funds and "live the dream". Wasn't sure if this was allowed, but there seems to be others in my position so I've emerged from the shadows and would like to introduce myself. At the moment I'm based in the New Forest/Southampton area, but originate from Cornwall. I have petrol running through my veins and the majority of my life is dedicated to Motorsport in some way or another. Been a race mechanic for the last 4 years, following in my old mans footsteps (the Proper Cornish Way), but it doesn't leave much of a social life! So I'm hoping I can get my Subaru fix on here until I'm blessed with ownership Cheers
