Hey folks Nice to see this place is still about, been a while since I've read or wrote on this place. Anyway Im looking for some info or advice please I had a warning light come on my Impreza 2002 WRX with a few light mods, nothing serious. Mainly Turbo back exhaust changes. Anyway I took it down to Chris Alan at East Linton Services who plugged it in to his handheld to reveal it was the Knock sensor playing up. Anyway that was last week and we discussed it and choose to simply reset it and see how it goes. But today this morning it came back on and shortly after I think the car when in to Limp mode as the power was mostly gone in the higher RPMs and I didnt want to push it. It was a little unsmooth as well applying what power was left as well. Anyway my question is about weather this sensor going would cause this effect, because if thats a no I worried I'm in for a large or expensive issue. Regards Pete one worried owner

Impreza V Evo X Topgear This Weekend 29th Jun
imprezapete replied to westtra's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Evo for me, I stand by the my view that the new scooby looks crap. Its going soft in its old age, when I saw the WRX at the highland show I walked past it and straight to the Mitsa stand for the Evo. Shame really, I still love my bugeye. Heres hoping Toyota buy them up and make a better Impreza in future -
ok the liquid gurge noise is coming from the passenger dash area or that area of the engine bay against the passenger dash area if that makes sense....

This has been doing this for months on and off, would a head gasket not go fast? Also it got its MOT in Feb and Chris Alan at east linton who did the MOT said nothing about any issues. Mind you would a MOT person or Chris notice that when doing a MOT?

Ok that would fix a problem, but what caused the problem? I havent changed any hoses

Well I noticed this on and off for some time, but nearly all the time after I have started the car in the morning I get a gurgling liquid noise from the what would be dash/engine bay area when reving the car. Its not always there at times and generally never after the car has been running for a while. Can any tell me what it is? I'm a bit worried it could be bad :S Air Con? Cheers Pete

I would like to say thanks to both of you, Scott and Rosie. You both made me feel very welcome on my first time to the club at the Rolling road day in fife and I'm very sad to hear your leaving. But as they say things must go on! I hope your both not going to be strangers, I dont frequent the boards and events as much I used to but I still watch whats happening now and then. Hope you both do the same Again a heart felt BIG thanks to both of you! /Salute Pete

Well time has come to sell the car I think, I have been thinking about it since pertrol prices are going through the roof but this puts the iceing of the cake. Its over month of my free cash if it increases to over £300 for a 02 WRX... Sick and tired of it, I love the car but its just costing me too much for whats a daily commute for me. Time to tart it up and sell me thinks. A.97 With effect from 1 April 2009, and as set out in Table 8a, VED for cars, registered on or after 1 March 2001, will be reformed to include six new bands.
