About Ludford

  1. Live in Birmingham just got hold of an Impreza WRX. Would love to meet up with any Birmingham Impreza owners.
  2. Apparently it's slower in a drag race than an S2000. I'm expecting it to end up like the RX8, trying to be a sports car but ends up being a family economy car due to lack of power.
  3. 200mph is a terrible film. Car is a Nissan and they switch between calling it an RX7 and an MX7 in every scene. Movie also implies that sticking Nos in a car will lengthen your gear ratios and make you go 200mph.
  4. Had a guy look at it. It's the idle air temp sensor making it idle a little rough. I'd fix it eventually by getting an OEM airbox but it shouldn't affect things too much in the mean time right?
  5. Could the sensor he's talking about be the Intake Air Temperature Sensor? I know that most after market intakes don't come with an adaptor to hook one up and you need to buy one separately.
  6. Thanks, I'm staying a bit weary but I don't want to outright turn it down yet as I can't see any others in my local area at this time that natch my criteria. Fault code it throws up is 24. Might need cleaning / replacing. But he said his mechanic said it would throw up that error even with a new MAF because of his after market intake doesn't have a "socket to plug in a socket that fits on the original airbox". Anyone heard of that happening?
  7. Got some more info on exactly what was rebuilt on the engine. crank journals regrinded reclaimed and polished con-rods all new main bearings wiseco piston rings
  8. He didn't to the rebuild the previous owner did. He's only had the car 2 weeks as his missus hit the roof when he bought it cause they have a baby. He's looking for a quick sell to invest in a family car. I could ask to have it taken down to a garage to have it investigated maybe? Kinda sounded like a mix of dump valve with a slight hint of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Sm2flQESgI
  9. 1995 WRX Japanese import. Running at 280hp. 93,000 miles. Engine rebuilt in 2007 with bills to prove it. Screen cracked slightly. No engine smoking or knocking. Car sometimes throws up a fault asking to check the mass air flow sensor but he says that is because it's running an after market intake (not sure if true). Car has what sounds like dosing compressor surge on upshift. I know this reduces life of turbos so I wanna fix it, dunno how much it would cost. Pretty tidy all around, a few chips, interior a bit run down. £2500. What do you guys think?
  10. Hi all. Just got my first serious full time job so I'll be looking to trade up my MX5 for an Impreza soon Looking at spending around £2500 for a 90s WRX, seen a few around that price. Looking to have around 300hp so if I can't find any that are already at that what supporting mods would be required for upping the boost and around what price would that cost? Thanks Ludford
