  1. Hmm. I kind of feel like I should wait longer for an STI, but I don't wanna wait! It could be another couple of years before I could afford one, I want to get back into a scooby asap and get tinkering. I have however taken all you have said on board.
  2. I dont think they'll take a motorbike as part. Ex, not many places do!
  3. What parts brake? Is a better clutch than the standard a good option. Obviously dont want a whole new gearbox
  4. I've just spoken the to the dealer, it is a 5 speed. Considering its lightness compared to my old 2010 saloon wrx sti maybe 300bhp is enough. What do you mean "let go" as in brake?
  5. Yeah, so I've noticed. My idea is try and give it a STI look and feel, but more so. Got a list of planned mods, not even got the car yet! Car is 5950, was thinking of spending as near to 4k on mods over the next couple of years including. Improved suspension all round, bigger better brakes, already got 18 inch sti wheels they'll be first thing on! Induction kit, blow off valve, remap, front mounted intercooler (unless it stays at around the 350bhp mark). Mud flaps and sti spoiler and an ht autos lip kit, i reckon I could get it all and the car done for less than 10K. I'm not looking for a track car, just a decent road car
  6. I much prefer the look of the hawkeye. Not too keen on the blob. am I allowed to post the ad in here? Cant find a good 2.0 ltr turbo im afraid. Not for want of trying! I know the wrx is a smaller turbo but the extra 500ccs should give me more space to tune with, shouldnt it? Im planning to get it around the 350 mark
  7. After selling my 2010 wrx sti as it cost a bomb to run I decided to get my full bike license. A combination of not being able to use the bike much and not wanting to kill myslef I am now on the verge of getting a scooby once again. As I am bit of a pauper, I've found a 2006 wrx with 54k on the clock. Its a 2.5 ltr turbo 6 speed with 230bhp and completely standard! All for a shade under 6k. I cant afford an sti so my intention is to buy this and over the year or two modify it is this a sensible purchase? I cant wait to get back into the world of imprezas and just wish I didnt have to leave it in the first place.
  8. HT Autos? think they do CF, FG and standard plastic
  9. Its about time Mark Higgins had a crack isn't it?
  10. After the recent rather handy photobucket tutorial post I thought I would post some pictures of my recent trip to Catalunya more specifically Girona and some from Japfest. Hope you enjoy!
  11. I didn't go for a ride in it, but I couldn't help but notice that compared to all the other on track cars the Pro R WRX STI was insanely quick. I'm sure the driver helps, but it looked rapid around the track. Anyone know what it's make up is? It used to be just a 340R with various Pro-R updates to bushes, hoses, springs etc..
  12. Pissing it down here last few days. Polished it on Monday. Since then its rained and been pood on will give it a going over tomorrow night before driving to swindon
  13. Tommi is tommi. Who can touch him? Though id like to see the stig in a wrx sti at the ring
  14. Great video, hopefully it will be a long running series. Some points: 1. Good to see Subaru are still top of their game in the world of rallying on the world(ish) stage. 2. Good to see two brits doing well over there. 3. Not sure about these BMX riders and skateborders jumping into rally cars. But if they do will, then why not?! 4. Craig Drew has an amazing accent!
  15. Like some of the others on here, I just used water. Seems to work fine, but there maybe better options.
  16. I've used clay on mine. The entire car! Bit of a ball ache and only need to do it rarely, but gets almost everything off.
  17. You think thats stupid. On the same day saw a red rolls royce phantom with the registration 1. Nothing else simply said the number 1. And that cost 7 million. 7!
  18. http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/269692/porcelain_bugatti_veyron_grand_sport_gallery.html Whilst at work yesterday walking around park lane london parked outside the Dorchester hotel I saw this little beauty At first i thought bugger me a bugatti beyron. Id never seen one before as theyre like rocking horse poo. Upon closer inspection I noticed it had a horrific wrap and interior. It wasnt till I googled it that I discovered it part made of porcelain. Mad mad mad. And it cost 1.6 million
  19. Maybe sometimes it not a question of being worse. Granted, some will have less performance gains, but probably work more efficiently. Totally agree with the fact about induction kits. They don't give as much power as people or the manufacturers would have you believe. Mine gave me a 20 - 25 bhp rise, which isn't too bad I guess.
  20. I had a Pro-R map on mine. They weren't really very helpful when I asked them if it needed to be removed before installing a new one, probably spoke to the wrong person. Fortunately Jolly Green Monster is bit of a genius in the world of mapping and sorted me out with mine!
  21. Cheers! Sorry. Just had bit of a rant via my mobile in my last message. Always ends up full of mistakes. I would be quite happy to pay a couple more pence on fuel for a drop or removal of road tax.
  22. Scoobyworld in Loughborough isn't too far is it? Very impressed with them when I visited for a service recently.
  23. I think you should be taxed on how much you drive. A subaru creates less co2 in its entire life time than a prius or leaf take to make. So why tax the bigger engine more? Those who only drive weekend cars also feel the sting to. If yoh drive your scooby for say 100 miles on a weekend compared to a 3 series bmw doing 400 miles a week. Why does the subaru get taxed more but creates less co2?
  24. I reckon you could argue that they make an infinitesimally small change to the weight of the car increasing down force, thus actually slowing the overall speed of the car! Wow, that almost sounded intelligent. Maybe call them "go slower stripes"?
  25. I thought that too, but it's different at least! Thanks for the feedback though!
