  1. We normally wait till everyone is gone and start picking up stuff ourselves. TBH it's nice have the police come round as it stops the chavs from turning up to these things and just gives the rest of us peace of mind.
  2. My local car club "www.freshadditions.co.uk" do regular monthly meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the Fair Acers retail park in Abingdon. We've been getting about 100-120 cars turn up and a handful of Scoobies. There is plenty of room and we have permission to be there from the owners of the retail park and the Police are on board too. Why not start coming along to get the Subaru numbers up and it's a good chance to just meet people from different car scenes. We have a good mix of JDM , French , MG's and VAG stuff. As a club we do a lot of stuff together like the big Jap and modified shows , Karting days and dyno days. Anyone from the SIDC would always be welcome to come along as a couple of us who own Impreza's are also members on here. It might make it easier for people to get to as it's always on , so no matter how few or how many from here turn up , there will always be people there to chat to and cars to look at. Also the cars we get are proper enthusiast cars and it does not matter if your in a 911 or in a 206 GTi , everyone is equal , it's just owning an Impreza makes you more equal than others ( espcally the Evo's ) I hope I'm not overstepping the line with this and I apologise to any of the SIDC staff if I have. One of our goals in FA ( Freshadditions ) is to have a good working relationship with other car clubs / forums as possible , so when it comes to big regional shows meets , we can always get a great turn out of good quality cars.
  3. Hi guys , I'm based in Headington so it's pretty easy for me to get to any meets in and around the county.
  4. Shame im getting a tooth pull at the dentist that night :'(
  5. Was a replacement engine as the old one just destoryed itself. The specs are STI9 nitrided crank, forged rods, forged long block, ACL black series race bearings, ARP stud set, cosworth steel head gaskets, lateral 12mm oil pump. The engine was orginally built by Zen Performance , and had finished it's run in period just before it was sold to me. My car runs a de-cat and full Blitz-NUR Spec exhuast , Pipercross pannel air filter. Everything else is standard.
  6. Today I had the graphs and data sheets emailed tome from the remap done on my P1. Really pleased with the result , and safe to say a healthy increase from the standard P1 setup. Next step is to get the Brembo package on the car , and then look for some 18" gold wheels.
  7. I use either V-Power or Monmentum , and I find either are brilliant for mpg or feel of the car. I would advoid the BP 97 Super Unleaded as it's like pigs swile.
  8. Since owning mine , I have had a few funny moments. I am currently a mature student and when I drive onto campus the looks of envy I get from the young spotty folk makes me chuckle. On the flip side I will never wear my baseball cap while driving because I feel such a sterotype I'm fairly active in a little car club here in Oxford ( the car hating capital of the world ) and we meet up sometimes at a retail park. The local chavs with 3 months worth of doll money spent on Halfords mods turn up and typically when I am going home I get 1 or 2 think they will race me fast and furious style. So when I am at the lights on the ring road they pull up next to me reving their engines, and one they turn green I love nothing more than to keep up with them , untill they are almost destroying their pride and joy , and go into 3rd gear and shoot off faster than a chav doing window shopping on London The one thing that ticks me off is every car on the motorway is always up my chuff. Then I pull over and they pull over to the same lane
  9. To say I've got a bit of an itch to get back in is an understatement The guys at Scooby-Projects have been fantastic to me. I pick it up this Sat
  10. Just had some pics sent through of the car , just waiting to be mapped tomorrow...
  11. Also with eBay you can get plates made up with no need to give id's ect so your plates can be clone without you even realising it.
  12. On the classics it can be a pain in the to swap the cat back and forth as the CAT sits at the front by the turbo. I've always liked to do a whole system with or with out the CAT as if I am spending good money it's worth doing the job right. Also I in some cases I beliave havign a remap to the new system will really improve things.
  13. Yeah happend 3 weeks ago now. Other than that the cars been flawless. I've done over 5000 miles since I got it in April. Will give you a buzz when it's back so you can take a nosey at the work done on it.
  14. Well the curse of the P1 struck my P1 for the 2nd time in it's life. The engine threw a rod and blew a chunk out of the bottom end My mate who is a mechanic and jap car modder took a look at things for me and it seems that there was not the correct heat sheilding in place. I went through the paperwork and everything have been done by Sunbaru Worchester!! Luckily I was close to a layby and the fire brigade got to it before any thing other than a few melted cables and intake were on fire. Couldn't have come at a worse time as I am planning on moving to Brighton university and term starts on the 22nd Sept , obviously I have loads to sort out and no car has made things next to impossible for me. So after getting advice on the P1 site , I asked Scooby-Projects to do the work needed. We decided an engine swap was the best way forward with budget and time contraints. Then finally my luck turned around. A P1 that has had £20l worth of work done to it is getting broken because of the market is slow for a £10l P1. Well the engine is a nicley modded beast and has been tested at 330bhp with a CAT and they think once installed into mine with my decat and Blitz NUR Spec I should get around 360bhp pretty easily , Also it's means they can do the two cars at the same time allowing me to get a reliable install and engine fitted qucikly So fingers crossed I may be able to have my car done by the weekend or early next week Can't wait to see how it feels with the extra ponnies under the hood. Luckily when my friend took a close look at everything else for me he comfirmed the car is in really good shape and I was really unlucky with the blow. It seems a mixture problem of running too lean because of the excessive heat could be the cause.

  16. I found innsurance to be insaine when I was getting quotes for a Type-R and P1. The Type-R was a few hundred less than a P1 . In the end I went with Admiral , but they wanted the year paid up front. Insurance companies should be controlled better by the gov as the prices are just plain extourinte.
  17. I would have thought the P1 Owners club would be a better place , mention a P1 on Scoobynet and no doubt there will be a ton of abuse thrown out The site is http://www.p1woc.co.uk/
  18. Got my s****y Prodrive mudflaps today!! Shame I'm too rubbish to fit them myself :(

  19. How about doing a reginal BBQ down by the river and combine it with a group photoshoot session?
  20. I lived in Bedford for a couple of years , and I agree the people are brilliant. I was the assistant manager of the Lincoln Arms , which is sadly no longer a pub but a private house for some millionaire.
  21. There is a really good bodyshop on the A40 , there is a used car dealership at front but if you drive to the back you will see the bodyshop. Topgun are also known for their high standards , but are also known for their high prices. On the Oxfordshire Car Club forum there are a group of us looking at getting work done on our various cars , I think it is another member who does the work and the results are flawless. Take a look on the forum in the car related chat area ( apologies if I am not allowed to give out details of other sites ) Regards Dan
