About Scooby Dooney Doo

  1. Sco uk, another great handling great all rounder is firestones sv90, had them on a golf GTi and far out performed the proxes t1r that I replaced them with, I don't really rate the proxes t1s I have now (older ones not t1sports) noisy at high speeds an let go in damp conditions too easily, I'll be going back to the firestones next time I require tyres As for the bridgestones, they were re040 225/40/17 xl, ther were really awful for snaking / pulling on mine, strange how just tyres can make such a big difference car to car
  2. My impreza on 17 STI wheels with Bridgestone re040 handled terribly, tram lining, snatching etc, now with my ultraleggeras and Toyo t1s tyres they are fine, no symptoms
  3. Just sourced myself a set of the chrome metal STI interior handles from a blob sti for my blob wrx, my question is, how do I fit these interior handles?? A guide or some guidance would be a big help Cheers Jeff
  4. How do you mean? They must be correct fitment for my 5x100 blob impreza
  5. Anyone know of a set of prodrive pff7 wheels in silver or anthracite in mint condition? Or Fancies doing a deal with my oz ultraleggeras 7.5x18 wheels in original Matt graphite paint, mint and mark free with 225x40x18 Toyo proxes t1s tyres, for your mint pff7's with good tyres Either way must be 5x100 fitment Ta Jeff
  6. It's a pleasure to drive, even just pottering about its velvety smooth Duncan is mobile so comes to you, think he is based in Wrexham but does a lot from RCM in Leicester
  7. Well today Duncan came to perform a remap in my 2005 blob wrx 2.0 turbo Before going he performed some tests & saved the original map, all was well so a base map was added ready for some Tweeks to smoothen out, to suit the car The car seemed to be getting plenty of air at 148 on the airflow meter so this was good and helped by allowing a bit extra fuel & boost After a few road runs and accelerating from different revs, the car was checked for over boosting & knocking and the map saved stage by stage until it was complete, the car was hitting 1.35 bar of boost at 2'600 rpm and tailed off to 1.22 bar at 6'500 rpm The results are excellent, strong smooth boost and it pulls like a train, very happy Only mods on the car are STI intercooler K&N (dry) cotton panel filter Milltek cat back exhaust Scorpion centre decat I then took the car to a local Dyno Jet rolling road where is ran 290 BHP & 317 ft/lb torque Next mods will be a decat up pipe and decat downpipe then more mapping by Duncan, could it hit over 300 BHP on the standard TD04 turbo, it looks like it may do The beast So all in all, a great day, thanks again Duncan, top guy Jeff
  8. My thoughts too, cheers Going to do the check for diaphragm wear, take the tiny tube and suck on it, should be able go get a bit of air then it lock out, BUT do I do this with the engine running or with it just on ignition before starting or switched off?
  9. Unlock your car Open your bonnet, fully press down the bonnet alarm catch switch near the washer reservoir, now arm the alarm, does it stop the beeping, if so, this switch needs its height adjusting
  10. I think there's been some confusion, I don't want any woosh,, I'm selling my forge BOV for that reason in favour of fitting the standard Subaru recirc valve before I get it mapped, my question is will I gain any being it's replacing the stock Subaru recirc valve with a forge recirc valve.
  11. Shouldn't have a whooshing noise with a recirc valve should I?
  12. Ok so my 05 blob wrx is getting mapped on the 8th, 37k miles on the clock, would it be a wise move or will I gain anything by upgrading the stock Subaru recirc valve to a forge Motorsport recirc valve Will the stock part be worn enough to make any difference over its 7 year life span? Cheers Jeff
  13. Thanks for your kind words, Marko72 well spotted, it's had new disks & pads all round too
  14. So, to brighten up the dull January days, thought I'd get some up to date pics of my Scoob, after i've fitted a few new bits & given it a good clean. I'm made to with how it looks now, so logically the next step is a Remap which im getting on the 8th feb from Duncan @ Race Dynamix Your thoughts welcomed as always Jeff
