  1. Hi Mugs. No problem, just speaking as I found them. I did ask about the inlet manifold issues before going ahead with it, they assured me that it didn't need to come off as they are able to work round it, I don't remember how, it was 18 months ago, but I was convinced and had no problems since. I had been running two cars until this one, an old Landie for winter and a MX5 for summer, but with two lots of insurance and MOT's it made more sense to have a fun car all year round. Regards. Russ.
  2. When we had the Outback done, it took 5 days at Greenfuels in Bath and cost over £1800. The system they installed killed the cat as it has a manually adjusted flashlube system and they got it wrong, though they wouldn't admit it. The Profess autogas system is Polish and I can't fault it. Their technicions fitted it in a day and by the time they'd fine tuned the computer bits, stays on gas even at full beans. Russ.
  3. Hi Mugs. Filler cap on the bumper undeneath the petrol filler cap. Brings the RFL down by a massive £10 a year..yes a whole £10! Hardly worth the fuss of all the paperwork involved, but if you regurlarly travel into London and get it registered, I think it's free for the congestion charge. I never go there, so could be wrong! Also, tell the ins co. I don't think It's any more expensive, but they do want to know as it is a mod, as is a tow bar and everything else these days.
  4. Nothing in Ystrad Mynach. They'll give you a car for the day and only charge for the gas you use. Cardiff isn't far, but I went home as it took about 11hrs for the conversion. They include the first 1000 mile service and that only takes about 1/2 hr. The annual service takes a bit longer but they only charge £40 +vat. Great all round service. Russ.
  5. Hi. I had my hawkeye lpg'd by profess autogas 18 months ago. No regrets at all. Cost me £1100 all in, with electric flashlube. Not noticed any difference in power between the two. Paid for itself in the first year, I do about 10k a year. Get almost 5 mpl on gas paying around 72-79p. per ltr We also had the wifes Outback converted 4 years ago, still no probs with that one either. Russ. I got a 54 ltr tank in the spare wheel well as it takes no more room, and carry an air pump for local journeys and the space saver for longer trips.
  6. 6 weeks later....... It stopped beeping on turning on the ignition but carried on with the 3x3 beeps when turning off. I've since had it serviced at Keith Price in Abergavenny and they can't find a reason for it either. They confirmed the beeping on turning the ignition on was low battery voltage, they think that the LPG conversion might be something to do with it beeping after it's switched off. LPG service due in a couple of months, we'll see what they say. Russ.
  7. From memory, P1410, but I think thats due to the lpg system confusing the O2 sensor. I'll do another read tomorrow as the CEL came on on the way in to work when I booted it a bit to overtake. Russ.
  8. Terminals are clean and dry, no issues there. I didn't get the old battery tested as it seemed the obvious thing.....Obviously not though! The new one does seem to turn over much quicker so the old one was beginning to show its age. Russ.
  9. Continuing from my last thread... As the title says, the new battery didn't make any difference. Russ.
  10. New battery installed and running....BUT....Its still beeping!!
  11. The battery arrived today, but too late for me to fit it before going to work. I've put it on charge, I'll fit it in the morning and see if it stops the beeping. Russ.
  12. I've ordered the Exide premium, it should be here in a few days. I'll let you know if you're right and it stops the beeping. On the subject of Panasonic batteries, my wife has had Subarus for the last 15 years and I've also had a few over that time. Most of them with their original Panasonic batteries, up to 8 years old and this is only the second one I've ever replaced. The old legacy I had, I used to lay up over the summer and put the convertible on the road. I had a solar panel connected to the battery to stop it going flat and never had a problem. Thanks all for your help. Russ.
  13. Cheapest best quality battery so far. Anyone bought from here? http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/Subaru_Impreza_2.5_2006/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444770056&1&ee9c5fbecd3de1d0bb4821c9559eb7ac8d227718&000020 Russ.
  14. The general consensus is battery. It started okay last night and this morning, so I'll put it on charge when I get home this afternoon. I moved the car to let the o/h off the drive earlier this week, next time on starting I had to turn it over quite a few times on full throttle to start it. This will have drained the battery more than usual and it's struggling to recover, especially with the high drain it's getting atm. Thanks for the replies. Russ.
  15. Those Panasonic batteries are very good though, my old 2.5 V reg Legacy managed 8 years on it's original battery.
