About steve50

  1. hi guys more pics of uk turbo 2000 hope u approve regards steve
  2. it should be its cost me more than my ex wife he he thanks for the comments
  3. this is my classic uk turbo 340bhp and 18 months in the making hope to get to as many events as possible this year as car has spent more time having bits uprated than being driven ! he he
  4. nice car i swapped a classic for one in same colour 2 years ago but unfortunately the claasic dna was imbedded in my brain cells so had to go back to a classic uk turbo as i love the raw driving appeal of em i bought a standard uk turbo with low miles and have spent the last 18 months changing it into my dream car to the tune of 12 grand and rising he he
  5. id check out japspeed have a full system on my uk turbo and it sounds awesome!
  6. duncan at race dynamix has done all the mapping on my uk turbo ( 4 in all ) and all have been done on the rolling road at roger clarkes she had her initial ecu tek map done at pole performance in wolverhampton that was live mappin flat out on an a road third gear took 2 hours as first run blew the ecu (that was done by andy carr ) car now running 340bhp with the mods duncan has advised
  7. ive had live mapping ( scary ) and rolling road mapping done by race dynamix at roger clarkes on my classic uk turbo def rolling road he he
  8. im not even goin there he he long as ur not in brum you will be fine! swinton are good they have a modified section i got my claasic insured for £650 fully comp with a valuation of 12 grand
  9. i understand what you are saying about them being a broker what has got me is no1 they never answered or returned my calls and no2 they couldnt even be bothered to quote me just told me to go elsewhere never asked about the car nothing!
  10. i agree they are all at it ( just like garages charge what they like for fuel) swinton origionally wanted 880 to cover the car and like i said after haggling ie threatening to go elsewhere they came down to 660 ( a remarkable saving of 220 pounds ) its not right and us the great british public put up with it
  11. i can only say as i find and my experience was not a good one my calls were not returned and i finally was told to shop around and if i got a quote of 800 ponds or less to take it! this was not good customer service i can only assume they dont need the business ps i did mention that i am an sidc member and over 50 with full no claims and no points
  12. hi guys last week i posted on here regarding renewing my insurance as over the last year i have spent many thousands on modding my classic turbo 2000 ie uprated suspension 'engine to 340bhp 'bodykit etc i was recomended to try keith michaels ( gary moulson ) for a quote and after 4 days of attempting to contact him and leaving messages etc i finally got rewarded(or not)! i was informed that as my postcode began with a B ie birmigham insurance would be a problem ( apparently london comes under the same category} so the two biggest cities in the country are not scoob friendly!( i wouldnt mind as much as i tried to explain to him that i live in tamworth and that is 20 miles from brum as the crow flies so there is obviously an exclusion zone!) feeling dejected and contemplating a nissan micra i contacted my current insurer swinton who unknown to me have a modified section and after haggling( like you do)managed to get a price of 660 which covers my mods and i am happy with ( as they do not persecute brummies) come on guys at keith michaels i know we talk funny but we aint all criminals!!!!!!
  13. thats really useful thanks i will list me mods and collate some quotes
  14. Hi all after a bit of help with car insurance i run a classic impreza turbo 2000 i have spent possibly in excess of ten grand turning my dream into reality mostly everything on the car has been changed or uprated she is currently running 345bhp( pistons pending)! my insurance is due and the car is currently only insured as the standard vehicle which insurance is the best and cheapest(rem pistons are expensive)!that deals with the modified cars i am an old git with full no claims so any help appreciated cheers steve
