  1. Hi Dawn, for what it's worth, there's a classic Scoob (could be a 2000, or maybe a Sport) in a nearby village, that runs Bugeye WRX alloys.
  2. Thank's very much for the responses guys. It's well past my bedtime, so I'll follow this up ASAP. Midnight21, out of interest, which battery did you replace? The main car battery, or the one for the alarm? Cheers.
  3. Hi all, I was just sitting in the house and heard a car alarm go off. Thinking it could sound like mine, I took a look out the window, but the hazards weren't flashing so thought it wasn't mine. A few minutes later, the alarm is still going off, so I go outside to work out which car it's coming from, and sure enough, it's mine. I pressed the button on the key fob, which unlocked the doors but did not stop the alarm. The only way I can shut it up is to disconnect the battery. Fiddling on with it, I noticed that when I sometimes reconnect the battery, the hazards were flashing quickly, with no alarm sound, but ultimately the alarm would start again (without hazards). I don't have a good history when it comes to the alarm/immobilisers on Imprezas! It's a 56 plate Hawkeye WRX, with the usual Sigma alarm with keypad. Has anybody had this problem, or know how I might solve it. I did wonder whether a weak battery may cause it, as the car hasn't had much use over the last few weeks, and the starter is a little sluggish on turning the key. Many thanks, Oli Edited to add a bit of extra info.
  4. It's still a sweet looking Scoob, and I'm liking that reg number.
  5. Just thought I'd drop by to say hello. Been a long time lurker, but with the recent purchase of a Hawkeye WRX with PPP, I thought I'd pay up for SIDC membership. It's my 3rd Subaru. 1st was a 96 Legacy GTB Twin Turbo which I absolutely loved. Then had a standard Bugeye WRX wagon, which although I loved and served me very well for 30,000 miles, never QUITE replaced the GTB in terms of fun. But now that's all changed with the Hawkeye. It's standard apart from the PPP, but I'm loving the extra mid-range torque, and it's also got Prodrive front brakes which is also a welcome improvement over the standard system. I'm not particularly mechanically minded, but the brother-in-law does a damn good job if I bung him a few quid as and when needed. But I'll no doubt have a few questions for you guys along the way. It looks like you guys like pics, so here's a couple from the iPhone, although it's nowt you haven't seen a thousand times before.... Cheers...!
